One of the best books I ever bought. I love hip hop and photography. This breaks down a lot of the classic photos seen in magazines and albums. Also, the book comes in a bigger than normal size which makes you want to pick up if seen just laying on a table.

Amazing photo history of the best times of hip hop. Ideas and beats were fresh and endless. I follow the author Vikki Tobak on social media as well as Contact High on social media, to see the star studded gallery shows around the world where these same music artists attend. This book is so relevant to hip hop history, fashion, photography and the birth of music videos. I’ve bought as gifts for friends of that era as well as kids who want to learn more of the culture.

I got this book yesterday. I spent the entire day reading through the whole thing, studying every picture enamored. This book is modestly priced for its value, as it has a lot of valuable content. I learned things I never knew about. Interviews with the photographers were in-depth and intriguing. Even if you aren't all that interested in the stories, the photos speak for themselves and its great to flip through the pages and soak in the culture and how it had changed over the years. Highly recommend to anyone who grew up with or appreciates hip hop culture and even to those who might just be interested in studying photography.
