If you are electrical engineer by trade your ansawer to your question should be why. Why are you using this shrink wrap on any type of twin & earth. If its been cut or broken then unless you have good knowledge of ac cabling and I presume you're competently qualified in this I would not suggest using it in any ac environment. By way of your disciption, if there is some kind of brake or join in two wires (cables) you would normally solder the joints and shrink wrap the joint to seal and secure. If in case of ac use only a joiner like waggo ect which is rated appropriately, if in doughty with any ac diy activity seek qualified abilities, you may only regret it soon or later if you don't. A bodge can kill😕🤔
