Bakuman?, Vol. 3 (3)

New Characters, New Fun
Bakuman vol 3 is unlike vol 1 and 2 in that this one is packed with times with our favorite characters, Saiko and Shujin and their way of spending the summer. Rather than spoiling the plot and surprise, it doesnt revolve around elaborate plot details of extended one shot manga concepts, but instead on introducing us to Eiji (the child manga prodigy who is starting his own series from the previous volume), a manga editor, and Fukudo, another one trying to rise to get his own series in Jump. Needless to say the interaction they provide with each other is fun and inspiring. The manga ends with the conclusion of the summer and Saiko and Shujin on their way to coming up with a new one shot. The art was well and amazing in this volume, the modern english sounding translation flowed well, and still the only con is that there are no extras beyond the draft manga pages at each chapter. This is a series to get into and volume 4 looks even better than this.

I'm really loving this series
I don't usually like realistic stories or stories about kids. Mostly this is a story about artists trying to fulfill their dreams and potential. That is very inspiring.

Fantastic story continues
Continuing from the previous two volumes the Bakuman story really picks up with the introduction of their rival Eiji (featured on the cover) A really great book, beautiful storyline, gorgeous art, its just fantastic. As the other reviewers have said the story shifts a little, but it is great nonetheless, expect great things from this series. It is officially my favorite series from Jump

It's a pretty fun read and I couldn't put it down until I read the whole thing, after reading the first two again obviously.

A mangakas life
Volume 3 includes chapters 17 to 25.It is rated T for teen due to "suggestive themes".Bakuman is about 2 boys, Moritaka Mashiro and Akito Takagi, who dream of becoming professional manga creators. Mashiro is in charge of the art and Takagi writes the story. Together the duo call themselves Muto Ashirogi. Mashiro promised his girlfriend, Miho Azuki, that when both his dream and her dream of becoming a voice actress come true, they will get married. In this volume we see the more negative sides to becoming a mangaka. It also introduces us to some new characters, Fukuda and Nakai who also dream of being in Shonen Jump.Plus more is revealed about Nizuma Eiji.Obata's art is amazing as always and just as the previous volumes, we get to see a rough storyboard at the end of each chapter. The only downside is that this volume makes me hate Miyoshi even more. Read it and you will know why!

Bakuman 3 Review
I loved the fact that this story is so ongoing and keeps you reading. Sometimes you don't know what to expect with the line, the art is awesome and there are actually some really good realistic tips within the book that you can you if you're drawing etc. I'd recommend this to anime lovers, graphic novel readers and anyone else who is intrigued by the book.
