Does stainless steel surround get hot hot

Hi We have used this hob for some time now and not burned ourselves.I would say the stainless gets quite warm but not really hot,hot. Hope this helps.By the way we have found this hob really good,good heat control and easy to clean. Regards Charles Stapleton
