Our vet recommended these
We have a dog that licked a hot spot on his leg so obsessively that it developed into a lick granuloma. Our vet prescribed an antibiotic and did 3 cold laser treatments on it. (If you ever have a dog with a wound, the cold laser treatments speed healing dramatically!) When our vet finished the first treatment, she began the bandaging by applying one of these pads to the wound. Really, any type of non-stick pad would have worked, but the adhesive strips on each side of these pads mean that you have both hands free to apply the vet wrap, instead of having to use one hand to hold the non-stick pad in place. We asked our vet to get the box so that we could make note of the brand and the product name, and we were very happy to find them available on Amazon.Obviously the pad is not visible in my photo because it’s covered with vet wrap, but trust me, it’s under there. 😆These have worked quite well for us, and I will purchase again if we run out. Highly recommended.

The best telfa pad
Covidien makes a better pad because it does not the not have a non absorbent filament on top of the pad. If you have to tape the pad to stay on, it does it does not it curdle the pad. A flat pad is necessary to keep medicine on surface of the wound. Amazon sells a cheaper pad which has it uses, but it does serve not me well.

Gentle on skin
My skin is very thin. This type of bandage is super gentle on my skin, removing it is easy/ painless.

Gentle on the skin
I purchased these after a hospital visit when these were used by the nursing staff. They are gentle on the skin when pulled off and yet do the job pretty well. They also come in in much larger sizes compared to Band-aid for coverage over large areas.

Worked great
Used these after a total knee replacement to cover the incision and staples. They work great because they stick on two sides only and do not stick to the area healing. And they stick very well until pealed off.

Good bandage. Has a sticky part so no tape needed. Not great for places that rub a lot.
What you get is 100 3" x 4" non stick gauze pads, with adhesive on the edges, so that they will stick, without the need of tape. These come in white, and only white. They used to sell them in tan, etc.. But, they stopped all other colors years ago (I think about 5), and have only made them in white since then. These are one of the few bandages that are made in the USA too. The sticky part is attached straight to the gauze pad, so there is no flaps that hang off the edge, like you have on a standard bandage. While these are made pretty well, they are something that only works good in some applications. I will explain the good and bad points to them.I have never had these stick to a wound, so that is good. They are absorbent, but not greatly absorbent. If you have a wound that is leaking, or bleeding, just a little, then these will work fine. But, if it leaks a lot, kind of like a burn that just happened, that took the skin off.. Then, you will probably want to get some non stick gauze pads, and put a second layer under it or something, to make it thicker. The sticky part holds fine under normal conditions. The best things I can compare it to is maybe paper tape. It holds, but there are better things out there, like cloth tape..One way I have found that they are not that good at is, being used in a place where you rub constantly. If you use them on an arm, the back of your hand, on the top of your leg, etc, they will work great. But, because of the way that they are made, if you put them in a place that rubs a lot, like, on your upper leg / thigh / buttocks, on say, someone that is paralyzed, then they rub a lot as they move.. Or even, under your arm, where it rubs a lot, etc.. Because of how loose the gauze part is, if it rubs a lot, it seems to kind of, bunch up, when you rub against it a lot.I have taken some pictures, so you can see how they are made. You can see the size, how they are wrapped, and on one picture, I folded the part back, that you peel off. If you look at the lines on it, on the outside of each side.. That outer line is how far in the sticky part is. As you can see, they are not even. One side, the sticky part is about 1/2" wide, while the other side, it is just under 3/8" wide. The sticky part is only on one side. I have taken a picture from the end too. As you can see, the gauze part of it, is almost like loose cotton inside. This is why I made the earlier comment about how it bunches up when you rub against it a lot. Some other info that may help. The non stick (non adherent) gauze pads that I have here, from a different brand, are actually able to absorb more moisture then these do. If you need to go that way, I recommend using "Dressing retention sheets / tape" if you are using them in a place that does not rub a lot. That tape holds good, but seems to roll up on itself, when you rub up against it a lot. But, it is also one of the most flexible type of tapes I have found. Plus, it comes off without hurting at all. You barely notice it coming off, and it leaves no residue behind either. You will obviously want to use something like cloth tape instead, if it is in a place that rubs a lot. I am mentioning this, because most people only think paper / cloth / plastic tape when applying non adherent gauze pads, and know nothing about "dressing retention tape, or sheets". I thought it may help someone.Overall, it is a good product, but, in places that rub a lot, I like the ones that use more of a standard type of gauze pad, like what you see on a standard bandage. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will help if I can / see the question.
