Great replacement for bad OEM cable
For the longest time my one joy con didn’t have LEDs. I just didn’t care to fix it. Eventually the 2 buttons on this ribbon cable also stopped working. Ordered these. They look OEM and when installed, functioned perfectly without issues. Now the LEDs work and the buttons!

Fixed button issue on right Joycon
I can tell they're slightly thinner than the oem joycon board, but it worked fine and I had no problems doing the install. Our SL or SR (can't remember which) went out on one of our Joycons giving one of the kids a disadvantage in Mario Kart (oh the humanity) and this fixed the issue! Unbeatable price.

Fixes non working LEDs due to pinched ribbon cable
The LEDs on one of my left Joy Con sticks stopped working. If you open up the Joy Con you'll see that the ribbon cable that connects the SR/SL/LED functions of the controller to the main PCB is a ribbon cable that gets creased between the battery and back of the Joy Con case. This is a function of how the controller is designed and seems like this is an eventual point of failure for all Joy Cons.To fix the problem I came across these replacement parts and decided to give them a shot based on the price and rating. They arrived quickly and are a relatively easy install if you've ever opened up a Joy Con before. Following the replacement, the LEDs work as expected. I did feed the new ribbon cable underneath the battery compartment rather in the original location to try and avoid the creased ribbon issue. It's not a requirement to completely remove the battery compartment to do the replacement but it's much easier and doesn't add that much time. I have read a few reviewers that mentioned the ribbon cable being thicker than the OEM one and more difficult to insert into the connector. This was not my experience. The new ribbon cable connected without any issue or additional force required.

Stopped Joycon from working
Joycon's face buttons stopped working as soon as this replacement was plugged in. Buttons began working again as soon as this replacement was unplugged.

It's a tight fit, little thin
Price vs value is high, make sure you know what you're doing before you buy and you'll get out of this in <10 minutes.I've been inside of my joycons many times to swap out various components (thumbsticks, buttons, shell, etc). These parts came in a 20mm x 30mm zip top black bag, shown in one of pictures. That zip top bag came inside of a bubble mailer. I didn't have high hopes when I saw the delivery, but the parts were undamaged. The parts themselves are thinner and very flexible vs. the OEM boards. I won't claim the OEM part to be better, it broke and required replacement. The OEM piece is 0.4mm thick and rigid, this part is 0.3mm thick and the board is flexible. The flexibility of the board should be a non-issue as it sits tight against the rail board and backs against the grey battery compartment. Finally, the ribbon cable connector is thicker than the OEM piece. My digital calipers aren't sensitive enough to measure this difference, but the tolerance going into the plastic connector was tight, creating pressure on the hinged component (the latch you close). This step was the hardest and took at least 3 minutes with tweezers AND using the broken piece of ribbon cable from the broken component to confirm that yes, this is how it is supposed to be installed. All said, 5 stars, part is cheap and was installed in 5 minutes, back up and working without a 2nd case opening. Even if it breaks again in the future, for the price, it's spot on.

seems to work, but ribbon is a bit stiff
Ordered this to fix our right JoyCon who's SL button just randomly stopped working and upon investigation, the connection ribbon had snapped. Not sure what may have cause the oem ribbon to snap, but this replacement piece does in fact seem to work.I am no stranger to repairing drift in the JoyCon, but this is the first time I've had to swap out the LED lights/SL button chip. The process of accessing this piece is relative simple on the right JoyCon with the exception of the actual board connection being under the battery, but if you've replaced the sticks before, you would have had to remove the battery to do so. This is also the case for swapping in this replacement.A couple of issues with this replacement piece.1) If you're a stickler for OEM products, this replacement piece looks similar, but the actual board piece is a different color than the OEM product. As well as the color of the ribbon/connector.2) The ribbon itself is a bit stiffer making it a bit more problematic to maneuver while attempting to connect.3) The connector head of the ribbon seem to be a bit "thicker" also causing some issues with insertion into the board's connector. With those things said, it only took about 15 minutes to replace. In the end, the LEDs work and the Switch appears to report that the buttons receive input. We rarely use those buttons directly but in testing this replacement, I found that their not 100% responsive on every click. Looks like the chip flexes a little upon pressure. Not sure if it's the replacement or the poor design of the JoyCon. Anyhow, this work and is affordable. Hopefully it will last just as long as the OEM part. Would have been nice not to have had to purchase both left and right, but I guess now I have the left one in case it does go bad as well.

Fixed the button on top of the joy con!
With these controllers being so expensive, it is nice to be able to find a cable like this that will fix them. One of ours was not recognizing one of the top buttons, this fixed it and it is as good as new. Has been working great for months now.

Life saver
After taking apart my switch to fix the joy cons from stick drift, and the shells of the console I dropped it before it was put back together. Sadly a ribbon cable broke and I could not use the controller wirelessly. After waiting a few days I received this ribbon cable set and installed it in my joy cons. Thankfully it worked perfectly and I was able to fix the joy cons. Now I have a custom switch/joycon to use.
