Quite lightweight wood probably not too strong but if looked after should be OK. It's painted chocolate brown not a wood grain effect. What do you expect at the price, does the job.

I buy these to add marquetry to for gifts, they are a good base to start from and quicker and cheaper than making a box from scratch. I do completely dismantle them and change the hinges, latch etc but a good base none the less.

This box is ideal , as our dog passed away recently and we were looking for something not to large to put his bowl and other bits in , it is perfect for us good quality

I made ours into toy boxes for our grandchildren. I just used clear labels for their names.SturdyCame quicklyReally pleased

The box is fine, exactly as described.I opted for the white painted version (I know I could have painted it myself but I'd have to go buy paint and brushes!), the outside finish is perfectly fine but there are some quite sharp bits on the inside, possibly where the paint are dried in a ridge and I've had to sand them down as they feel almost like a nail point.As this is going to be used purely as a memory box I'm not too worried about capacity but I'd say that for any other use it's not huge.

The product is an attempt, it's not brilliant. Not the worst, but not worth £20, at best I'd value it at £5 - £7.The hinges that swing up to open the box were half way out of their fixtures and are flimsy. The lid isn't on straight either. I'd like a refund so now I'll await a reply.
