Beautiful & holds a surprising amount
This container looks super small but actually holds quite a bit. I have a problem with portion control, but this sucker holds more than I eat. The design is gorgeous. The double walls do not get hot in the microwave so I'm not scrambling for napkins or a potholder to take it out at the office. My complaints are small and definitely negligible. The first couple of time getting the lid on took some practice. When I got the hang of it, it was spill proof which as we all know is awesome. Secondly, the spoon is a little large (again, looks small but is generously sized) and does not like to hook into the holder area securely. Overall, this thing is great, and I find I'm reaching for it all the time for portable lunches and snacks so much that I have 2 now!

I almost ordered that $50 one!
I am SO GLAD I saw this because I almost ordered the Monbento Element at a whopping $50 and just could not find myself to buy it just yet because it was so damn expensive!This bowl is bigger than I expected and looks like a good size for a hearty stew or soup or noodle bowl.A lot of the thermal containers on Amazon are very tall and upright as if they are coffee mugs and when I want to eat noodle or soup out of the container it's being kept warm in, it didn't feel right to have to pour it into a cup and then consume it that way. I was really looking for a BOWL-like thermal container and Monbento seems to make the only true bowl-like thermals I could find on Amazon. This one and then their new Element.Because I wanted to keep all my Monbento stuff the same black matte finish I just ordered this bowl instead of the Element in Onyx from their website not just cause of the hefty price but that Onyx color was a shiny gloss finish.

Like it, but
It’s a great vessel for various types of foods, but I’ll warn you now that it is most definitely not leakproof…my carrying bag can attest to that with its stains. The best I could classify it as is maybe leak-resistant. I hand wash this, and I’ve noticed it’s relatively easy to clean.Overall a good product, but with a misleading description.

Though the Monbento bowl does a fair job of keeping food warm, it's not up to par with the rest of their products. The convenience of having a spoon attached to the lid falls short as the spoon repeatedly falls off.
