Best solution I've tried
I began battling Nutsedge four years ago. The previous owners of the property had allowed some big patches to flourish. This weed is really tough to eliminate and it resisted everything I threw at it. I decided to try ProSedge after reading a few articles about the active ingredients of different treatments. It is very effective. It takes at least two applications, but it will kill the stuff and it seems to stop it from propagating. It is better than anything else I tried. It did not harm my Mid Iron turf at all. You have to be patient because Nutsedge goes down fighting. But, if you use it correctly, it should solve your problem. From my experience, this is the only solution. You can't dig the stuff out, because it has an extensive network of pods two to three feet below the surface. Each pod is capable of producing hundreds of new plants. UPDATE AUGUST 2019: The war rages on. In Arizona, Nutsedge seems to come to life in August. I first realized this a couple of years ago when, in early August, I saw new "colonies" springing up. I continue treating with ProSedge and I now have very small areas of the weed. There are a relatively few plants compared to when I started. I recommend this product all the time and even treated my neighbors lawn when I saw Nutsedge growing there. (It was really self-defense. The stuff spreads relentlessly if you don't stop it.) I'm still fighting the fight and winning a little more territory every year.

Did not work for me
I have tried this numerous times over the last 4 years with a surfactant. It has no effect on my sedge. Maybe I have a variety that this does not work on. For me, waste of time, effort and money.

This Stuff Works But Be Careful
I have a 3.75 acre yard that was riddled with nutsedge. I used a full bottle of 1.33 Oz Prosedge in a 30 gallon pull behind sprayer (with surfactant) at idle speed for the front half, same for the back. All nutsedge dead or dying 5 days later. This stuff is potent, if you go over the same area twice you can burn your grass a bit so be careful. I also called and asked if I could mix Amine broadleaf weed killer in the same application and they said no problem. It works.
