Penhaligon's Opus 1870 Eau de Toilette

Penhaligon's fragrances look incredible, and that's what drew me to the brand in the first place. I purchased the small tin of tester vials off Amazon for myself and my husband's wedding as we both wanted a new scent (you get half women and half men's fragrances to try in the tin). This one was what he chose to wear on our wedding day, and it's just gorgeous. Slightly spicy but like nothing you've smelled before, it's so unique and warm yet has a fresh twist to it. Whenever he wears it I can't help but close my eyes and just inhale the smell of his skin, it's divine! The description fits perfectly to the scent "Opus 1870 is wonderfully warm and comforting, a fragrance to wrap yourself in on cold winter nights." It has a sort of reminiscent feel to it, something you can't quite put your finger on, but perhaps, imagine yourself back in 1870, involved in the celebrations around Christmas time, where candles burned everywhere, festive treats and feasts galore and cosy, mulled wine nights by the fire. There's such a delightful feeling about the smell of it, it's delicious and is now one of my husbands favourites.

Bought my husband a Penhaligons product some years ago and he wasn't keen on it. Thought I'd try him out with Opus and, yay, success - he really liked it.

Perfect... Just What I needed. It's so perfect that I think that I need a repeat prescription for it :)

I enjoy the perfume. I suppose Oud de Nil lasts longer but I can’t afford it

Smells bellissimo

Nice fragrance but very faint, you can hardly smell it even when it is first put on. Very disappointing, not exactly cheap.

una fragranza molto particolare e ricercata. Ho letto di persone che si sono lamentate della persistenza, ma le note di fondo del profumo sulla mia pelle sono rimaste percebili chiaramente per diverse ore (7-8). La persistenza è chiaramente una caratteristica che dipende anche dal tipo di pelle e non imputabile sempre al profumo. Per me un ottimo acquisto

Fantastic as always

This scent is sweet and woodsy without being too much of either. It's great. The problem is with the terrible box. The bottom part slides out, so be VERY CAREFUL. I received this shipment, took off the clear plastic wrapping, and watched as the entire bottle hit the floor. It's a good thing I like the scent because it will be pervading the room for about the next year or so. You've been warned!
