Superior Results
I have used a number of home gun bluing products over the years, and the Blue Wonder kit is hands down the best. While the products from Birchwood Casey, Brownells, and all the rest promise a deep and even finish and only produce a thin and blotchy result, the finish with Blue Wonder delivers what you're looking for. It rivals a tank hot blue job, at a fraction of the cost and zero mess. The secret is in the two-step process. You prep and clean like usual (a cleaner is included) then apply the bluing solution followed by a developer. The bluing solution produces an immediate result, and the developer acts as a catalyst and sealer to complete the job. They've perfected home gun bluing. Look no further - you won't be disappointed.

Works really well! Was impressed
This product works very well, I was very impressed when cold bluing 2 1899 Carcano Bolts. It actually deepens to a nice color upon repeating the process. It’s held up under vigorous conditions of firing non stop. I will purchase more!

This is a stain, not a Blueing
I cannot fairly rate this product yet so I have to give it 5 stars. I will say that it is a surface stain, not a surface conversion like traditional bluing that I've used. It's not a messy process. You will need a heat source to heat your piece. If you apply additional coatings, you can expect half of the first coat you applied to be removed during the second recoating process. I suppose it's reasonable to assume this would apply to any subsequent reapplications. It stands to reason that your first application is a very good representation of how dark it will be.It comes off easily.Durability of the finish is what I'm concerned about. Having said that, I wager older pieces will have a very "vintage" appearance after being reasonably used for a bit. Time will tell. I used the product on a Ka-bar that I wanted to restore.

My favorite over all
Tried Wheeler and Brownell. This one produced the best finish of all! Only drawback is that I had to apply multiple coats but it looked like a brand new cylinder when finished. I put it on a long metal screw and turned it with my drill as I was applying the finish. Dried with a hair dryer.

Nice finish
This worked great, and ended up with a very nice finish on a shotgun internals. The directions were clear. I would suggest reheating the part in between blueing applications if needed, and giving plenty of time to set and cool before applying the lubrication. I didn't wait long enough and a little bit flaked.

save your gun
this product actually works!!!! i had a few firearms that had some small rust spots areas. if you just follow the instructions it’s easy to do. i had to apply the actual coating several times just do it would get dark enough to match the rest of the gun. now you can’t even tell where it was

Good product but Expensive
The Gun Black does a great job blackening carbon steel. The other 3 products didn't do anything my off the shelf stuff couldn't accomplish, much less expensive.
