Jamaican Style Patties, Unbaked (Beef Mild, 1 Case of 50 Patties)

I love beef patties. I used to eat them almost every day when I lived in NY, but then I moved to the West Coast where there's a much smaller Jamaican/Caribbean population and much harder to find a good spot for Caribbean food. I searched far and wide for a store I could get my daily beef patty fix from but the few I found, their beef patties just didn't taste right at all. So I started searching online hoping I would find someone, anyone, who shipped decent beef patties cross country. I think I screamed for joy when I found these Caribbean Food Delights patties because I knew from back in the day that they'd be on point. (Juicii & Tastee also have great patties but good luck finding them outside of Jamaica or NYC).Now, almost 3 years later I have been ordering a box of these every time my last box is finished. The first time you order you may be worried about the price, over $125 (+ shipping) ain't cheap, but when you bake up the first batch and sink your teeth into that flaky crust and the juicy, perfectly seasoned ground beef paste hits your tongue, you'll appreciate that you bought them. Also, with a pack of 50, it comes out to only like $2 or $3 per patty (cheaper than the bland beef patties at my closest Caribbean store!).I am writing this review now, after all these years because I want to highlight what happened on my last delivery and how professional Caribbean Delights are. Despite shipping to me, which is about as far as you can get from NY, I have rarely had a case with broken or defrosted/unfrozen patties from them, they package these securely! But unfortunately, my last pack shipped during a heat wave and I guess some "not too clever" delivery men left the box outside a little too long during transit, so my patties arrived completely defrosted and were even starting to go bad with a smell. I told Caribbean Delights what happened, expecting the worst, but instead they immediately sent another pack which arrived in perfect condition.Caribbean Food Delights clearly cares deeply about their product and about their customers. That's why I'll continue ordering a box of these until they open up shop here in Cali!

I wanted spinach patties but they have been unavailable for months. So I took a chance on the spinach and cheese variety. I was pleasantly surprised! The flavor is similar to creamed spinach and very tasty! They were shipped promptly and arrived frozen with dry ice. I pay $5.25 each for these in the local restaurant so no question of the value for the money. They ended up costing $1.65 each. Of course that doesn't included the cost of the small freezer I had to buy to hold them all. But perfect for the pandemic since in California we don't know from one day to the next if restaurants will be open and this way I don't have to leave the house to enjoy a Jamaican patty.

I have been ordering these for a few years now. My husband is a first generation Jahmerican and his mother lives in Queens. We used to have her ship them to where we live in Minnesota. Now we just order directly. It can be pricey but its very hard to find them here. So we don't mind the cost. We bag them up and eat them. Thank you for sharing them with us. We appreciate it.

UPDATE 7/27/20I had to take off stars because the second case I ordered from this seller was terrible. Not packaged as well as before and the patties were terrible - the stew was very runny and flavorless with lots of grizzle pieces, and the dough was not uniform from one patty to the next. We had to throw most of them away. A big waste of almost $200!!I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of these patties. The patty stew is delicious. The crust is flaky - not too thick or thin, and with good flavor. As someone who makes my own patties, I can honestly say I was impressed!! My only beef (lol), if I could call it such, is that I prefer my patties a lot spicier, but I appreciate that that they are making these for a mass audience.I was also impressed by the professionalism of the company - the patties arrived two weeks before time given by Amazon. Also, the patties were packed really, really well - five rows of ten each separated by industrial wax paper. They were packed in more than enough dry ice for the journey, so much so that my husband commented on just how extremely well they were packed.Overall, I will definitely be ordering again as these have really come in handy during Stay at Home quarantine, and the company’s professionalism was awesome!!

There were many broken up patties as we got to the bottom of the box. A picture is sent.

These are delicious! They are worth every dollar. I have been eating patties for over 20 years. These are the real deal.Microwave them for one minute 30 seconds and then put them in the oven for 20 minutes on 350 degrees. Flip them once at 10 minutes. You won’t be disappointed!

The Jamaican pies arrived in a timely manner. They were packed well and arrived in good condition. I ate 3 immediately. They are good but I like the ones I was getting in S. Florida better. I can't remember what brand they were though. I don't think they are worth $178 including the shipping. Probably won't order them again, however, nothing ventured nothing gained. Thank You Amazon for offering them!

The produce is excellent, meet my needs, just disappointed I did not get total value!
