Hello! 2mm ball chain will go. And also depends on other chain's end connector size, too. 2.5mm can go, if ring fits. Also heavier chain will not look esthetic with this nice pendant. Thank You Very Much!

The bail has an inner height of 6.5mm and tapers from 3.8mm downward to 3.0mm.

the chord is sufficiently long enough to be comfortable around your neck. Plenty of breathing room. I would get a chain, though. That would better compliment the nice Pendant.
