Kuehne former Gundelsheim Barrel Sauerkraut (1.8 pound)

I really liked the Sauerkraut. Not overly strong flavored and good texture.

Lets just say if you drunkenly/hungrily ordered $12 sauerkraut on amazon one night and it happened to be this stuff you won't feel a ton of buyer's remorse and might find yourself wanting more of it like me. It's too much money, but the flavor is that of classic/nostalgic festival sauerkraut that a lot of storebought stuff falls short on. It earns a good review through quality.

This is SERIOUSLY the best sauerkraut I've ever had! I've been trying to put more good bacteria in my gut and I read that sauerkraut is really good for that. The problem is that usually sauerkraut is too salty or has too strong of a taste for me, but this Kuehne sauerkraut is really mild and I can actually eat it by itself!My only complaint is that it is overpriced. I can usually get the Kuehne sauerkraut at my local grocery story for about six bucks. I've purchased this on amazon 6 times so far because the grocery store often runs out. I wish the price was a little lower but that's my only complaint.

This is so much better than common, American Sauerkraut. Definitely worth the splurge.

Found it at a well known supermarket for $5.I’m not a fan of sauerkraut, but eat it because of the probiotics, until now. This is so delicious, I guess because is German. Not as acidic as others. And love that comes in a glass jar. I will never try another one.

I love good Kraut and my mother used to put it with pork hocks or ribs, etc. She made it so the intense sourness was gone but all the taste was there except that "too much bite" for me.When I tried this one...on another chance that I could find one that was not so sour, for I never knew my late mothers recipe and it drives me near whacky sometimes...I loved it as one of the best all time things to eat, it being so good for you as well.So I came wondering about this and I was not disappointed at all. It is great, eat it right from the jar, heat it and put some on a good sausage. Now if I can just find it all the time when I need it for cabbage is one of the regular things on my diet but had to be in raw or cooked cabbage for I near gave up on the saurkraut.I need not give up anymore.

Very good quality food but expensive

Good tasting sauerkraut. Just the right tartness. No sugar!!!! I added a bit of caraway seeds and it is good. I tried it right out of the jar. Very happy I bought this. I will be ordering more soon.Updated Review: Good with bratwurst, hot dogs and right out of the jar. This sauerkraut is good! Yes I've purchased more.Updated review 10/19: Cost has gotten too expensive. I searched around and found another source, I had to purchase 6 jars but they are consumed quickly. Still the best sauerkraut I've eaten! Highly recommended!
