I bought this natural granite mortar & pestle as a gift for my "chef-y" husband. He loves having it on hand to grind his own spices. When not in use...it makes a beautiful statement piece on a counter or shelf in your kitchen. Well made, very heavy and I felt like a great value.

This stone mortar is great! Way easier to use compared to the wood one I had prior.

It’s got to be the heaviest well-made, mortar and pedestal. I’ve ever had it grinds up everything. I’m so glad I purchased this one because their cells and some of them and you will be too sturdy. I’ve dropped it and it didn’t even break it, though I ain’t gonna lie.

Needs to be cleaned well, for food prep. That being said, I bought mine for other purposes, to grind minerals to a fine powder.

This item has quite a heft and can be used for heavy-duty grinding. Cleans very easily and the inner surface is smooth. The volume is perfect as well - you can put quite a bit of stuff in there. Overall awesome product.

I bought this as a wedding gift for my son. He and his fiancé love to cook together. They love all things Japanese and plan to travel to Japan next year. I thought that this gift would marry their two loves well. Since they didn’t have a mortar and pestle, I thought this would be a nice addition. It seems to very good quality. It’s attractive and heavy.
