Ranger Gel Press Storage Tin, Multicolor

I own two of these and have ordered a third one. They work fine for their intended purpose. The metal isn't thick and you will need to take care not to damage it. But I don't want the weight of something thicker. I want protection for my gel plates and it provides that.

I ordered 2 and they arrived indented, which is a first. I’ve ordered before and had to return because they arrived damaged and dented. These arrived in perfect condition. I use one for a large geli plate and the other for smaller shaped geli plates.

Love the size and portability this allows me to store watercolor paints and using magnets keep them securely in place.

I invested in 5 gel presses and wanted to keep them clean and protected with this tin after watching a video on YouTube demonstrating them by a Ranger representative who travels extensively with her journals and projects. Couldn’t wait to get one and keep mine safely tucked away too! The tin is solidly made with a hinge on one end which is a great feature but the metal isn’t as thick as hoped and it will dent easily if not carefully handled but this was not my only true complaint about the product and I hope Ranger is paying attention to this review.On the back was a HUGE billboard of a Ranger sticker that was not intended to be removed evidently because of the great lengths it took to do so. I removed pieces of it bit by bit, scraped and used hot water, a thumbnail which started bleeding from use as a scraper, even Goo Gone didn’t phase that adhesive to detach it. Finally I busted out the heavy artillery, my shrink heat gun! This was the only thing which loosened the adhesive and even then it was a pain to get free. Removing hot paper and sticky gum residue is not my idea of a great customer experience.Ranger, this was not at all the thing to do. I like art tools and products attractive and if they are to be decorated it should be only with something I want or like. The sticker isn't at all alluring which surprised considering all the artwork this company makes being stylized and full of mixed media images.The tin is a great idea, could be out of heavier metal but otherwise works as intended. The size of the tin was smaller than my gel presses combined so it could have been a little larger I felt. I got them into it barely and had to use a heavy duty silicone band to ensure it won’t pop open and spill the contents. I recommend measuring your gel presses prior to ordering to ensure yours will also fit inside or consider ordering more than one.

I have several sizes of gel plates, including smaller ones. This item is perfect for storing all of them. I love it.

I’m very happy with this storage tin for my gelli plate. It’s easier to open and smaller than the original plastic one.

Does NOT fit a 9x12 gelli plate. Dimensions from back of tin itself show 11.5 x 10.6.If the photo in the listing were clearer we’d be able to see that!
