Having not tasted it myself, I can't really speak to how yummy it it. But, my 3 dogs stand in line waiting for their turn. It's the poultry flavor and they love it. Can't speak to long term effects, I clean one older dog and one pup. I have to work fast because they start licking as soon as I put the brush in their mouth. Sometimes I just use my finger to scrub their gums and teeth. Sure beats paying a groomer to do it.

My dogs LOVE this toothpaste!I had always bought my dogs' toothpaste from the vet, but when I ran out I decided to shop around for a better deal. I'd never used this brand before, but historically they have loved the "poultry" flavor (my vet only had "malt" last time I went), so I gave it a try. The value is excellent, less than 1/4 the price I pay at the vet for the volume. My dogs (an 8-year old Pomeranian and a 12-year old Australian cattle dog/mix) are absolutely bonkers over this stuff - and I could tell they didn't like the "malt" flavor. Now we're back to toothbrushing being a REAL treat!What I really like about this toothpaste, besides the fact that my dogs love the flavor, is that the consistency is quite "thin". It is not a thick, globby paste like the stuff my vet sells. This is important to me in a functional way because the thinner paste can be squished down into the bristles of the toothbrush and therefore it doesn't just fall off into the dog's mouth whenever I squeeze the brush under their cheek to brush the molars. A thick paste that sits on top of the brush's bristles tends to just fall off and get swallowed/eaten. The point of the enzymatic toothpaste is for it to be applied to the teeth/gums so that it can keep them healthy - kinda pointless if they just swallow it.Long story short, I was expecting this to be an "OK" toothpaste to get me by, but I am extremely pleased with the price, the apparent palatability, and the consistency of the paste. I will be buying Sentry dog toothpaste again when my supply runs out!

Used this for years to brush my dogs teeth.

My dog is a picky punk, and it is very hard to please him. He somehow is able to tell the difference between free-range organic chicken and whatever chicken from costco. Therefore, just the fact that my dog is willing and eager to lick this stuff is a huge feat. If you have never brushed your dog's teeth, you should know that a toothpaste that the dog is eager to lick will help you immensely in your brushing efforts.Many vets I have talked to have told me that the goal of brushing the dog's teeth is simply to get the toothpaste on the dog's teeth evenly lathered. However, with a toothpaste that the dog loves to taste, you can go far beyond simply putting it on his/her teeth. As a result, in the past couple years that I have used this toothpaste, my dog's teeth has gotten much cleaner than when he first came to my place.Are you afraid your dog might not like this toothpaste?If my dog loves this, chances are, your dog will too.You will not regret buying this and brushing your dog's teeth with it.

I buy the two pack so that we have toothpaste at our house and at my daughters. We each have a greyhound and a mix breed. All of them tolerate brushing with a silicone finger brush using this. The youngest greyhound likes the taste so much she lines up a second time!Seems to work at reducing tartar.

My dog loves this toothpaste. She licks it like it’s a treat so tooth brushing is a breeze. Keeps her teeth clean! The tube lasts for a few months (I used 2 dollops each time to brush and I try to brush every night or at least every other night).

I switched from C.E.T to Petrodex to brush my cat's teeth with about three years ago, I guess. It has just been better value for money than the competing enzymatic pet toothpaste.My cat loves the poultry flavour. I call her with "Brush!" and she comes running. When I've finished brushing her teeth, I reward her patience (if you can call unbridled enthusiasm, patience) by letting her lick the brush clean. She loves it so much that she'll lick every toothbrush she can in the hopes that there's more of this on it. I can't just open a pack of toothbrushes and leave them around; she'll start licking the brush part.It's effective. Taste is extremely important because you don't want to make tooth-brushing a punishment and ordeal. But effectiveness is equally important. Because of a family situation for six months, I didn't have time to brush her teeth every night. As a result, she developed tartar. But I've been brushing her teeth every night for the last three months (and two weeks) and the tartar has broken off; her teeth are clean again.So effective as well as tasty.Shop around because some retailers on Amazon (and off) will charge a reasonable amount, and some places will charge you an arm and a leg for this. I buy multiple tubes when I see a deal, and I've been very happy with the results this toothpaste provides.

He loves it so much its hard to get it in his mouth but we manage. He just wants to eat it

My dogs hate the taste of mint and most toothpastes out there seem to use it now and my dogs have always cooperated well when I use this brand. It also does a great job in keep tartar to a minimum.
