Digital Thickness Gauge 0-12.7mm Electronic Micrometer Percentage Thickness Meter Inch Metric with Precise LCD Display

I typically machine components to sub 5 microns and need/buy Mitutoyo measuring equipment, but for the use, this is being put to (and with DTI-style equipment, good Chinese parts tend to be quite good), I thought I'd try a cheap one.So, checked against my laboratory grade slip gauges, which are accurate to small fractions of a micron7.500um slip measured 7.501 with this device6.000um measured 6.00310.000um measured 10.0015.000 measured 5.0033.500um measured 3.5031.005um measured 1.005So the best case was zero microns error, and the worst case was 3 microns in several mm. Overall very impressive and more than I need for the application. Very impressed and pleased.

Great tool for the money

I really wanted to be impressed by this, such a low cost for this design of thickness gauge, have used this style by other brands for years, have calibrated these as part of my job role, however a transfer into a new position meant i needed my own for use in the field.Purchased this as a cost saving measure, initially impressed with the decent case, calibration certificate and functionality, much easier to use than those twist down fiddly units.1st use went well, however i didn't trust the readings, day 2 i used professionally calibrated elko-foils to test the accuracy, 0-30mu is around 1mu out, 30-50mu is around 1.5 mu out, 50-100 is around 3mu out and over that is circa 8-12 mu out. OK for a reference but not for accuracy.Day 3 the clasp fell apart, I'll find another screw and thread-lock it in.If the manufacturer make this accurate, use some thread-lock on the retaining screw, keep the price in a similar ball-park, they'll have a winning product.

Instructions and packaging information are all in Chinese. Product quality seems OK but if there is useful information in the instructions I won't ever be able to read it!
