Absolutely loved it!
I absolutely loved The Bond That Burns, second book in the Bloodwing Academy series. It completely exceeded my expectations and I truly can’t wait for this story to continue in the third book. This book was intense to say the least. Intense but, so so good. SO many freaking things happen in this book, I don’t know where to start! First off though, the writing was top notch. The natural progression of events in this book unfolded really well and I have to tip my hat to the author. You can tell, she’s a plotter and knew exactly what she was doing in the 2nd book. While the writing in the first book was amazing, this was even better. The multiple POV’s in this story made me love it even more.**I will not give away the ending of this book but, my review will contain a few small spoilers so please continue reading at your discretion.**In my first review I mentioned that this storyline contains all the things magical and fantastical, and that definitely continues in this book, along with even more secrets. We’ll start off with dragons…Nyxaris. He is SO freaking Tairn coded I love it so much lol. He’s so sassy and the banter between him and our FMC, Medra made me laugh and smile the entire time. See below.“You are not going to die, Nyxaris answered. You will not fall. I will not allow it. I will not permit you to humiliate me in such a ridiculous way.”But, he’s also extremely loyal and while he doesn’t remember all of his past you can tell he’s trying to make whatever is happening between him and Medra temporarily work while they uncover what happened to dragons 100 years ago and how to navigate a potential bond going forward. It’s rocky to say the least. We DO find out what happened to the dragons back then but, I won’t say obviously. It was 100% a plot twist and I wasn’t expecting it at all… it was sad and heartbreaking but, makes us see blightborn (humans) in a different light too. We are left wondering if Nyxaris deems Medra, the only person with rider blood worth bonding too. I can’t wait to find out more in that regard.I felt remiss by not mentioning one of my favorite characters in my review of the first book, Neville. So he needs some love here. He is the cutest little guy of all time and he’s a fluffin. A fox like animal who absolutely adores Medra’s best friend Florence and Medra’s nemesis, Blake. They have a serious love hate relationship continuing in this book but Neville is totally neutral, he loves them both. Turns out though, that Fluffin’s are really incredible magical creatures. They have innate healing magic if you will and actually used to be companions to both dragons and their riders. The fact that Neville is even around is incredibly special. He plays a HUGE role at the end of the second book as well.In this story Medra is continuing year two at Bloodwing Academy and of course, not everything is at seems and she starts to learn who she can trust… and who she cannot. Secrets are revealed not only about rider blood and what that means for her and Blake but, also about Viktor… the big bad. Blake’s super evil nasty uncle.. just when it seems like she’s got a handle on her life.. he throws a wrench in it and he shows just how many strings he’s been pulling.Honestly this book ended on a cliff hanger and I loved it. It truly left me wanting more. Not only do we not know who survives at the end of this book but, we may have another dragon… I’m really anxious for answers in book three and I can’t wait for it to come!I wholeheartedly recommend this series. Happy reading all!"Sometimes our choices are all we have, Miss Pendragon. They define us, for better or for worse. Obedience doesn't absolve anyone of guilt. Not dragons. Not riders. Not you or me."

I’m here for the dragons 😍
Okkkk I LOVED this one! I was hooked from beginning to end, and now I seriously can’t wait for Book 3.❤️🔥 The enemies-to-lovers storyline continues here, and we finally see the main characters start to understand their feelings and learn how to meet each other halfway. I’m excited (and also a bit nervous) to see what happens with them after that ending.🐉 We got more info about dragons. How they bond with riders and some of their history. I hope we get even more of this in the next book!🧙 A new type of magic or condition was introduced at the end, and it’s going to make things very interesting going forward. There are still some things I’m wondering about:🧚 I liked getting a bit more of the MFC’s past life, but I still want to understand how it connects to her current story. Her fae body has the same traits as the riders—does that mean other fae have come to this world before? How did they do it? Can they go back?🙅♀️ And seriously… who’s the real enemy? Why is everyone keeping secrets? I’m just as frustrated as Medra. I really hope we both get answers soon!Overall, Book 2 was such a fun read and I couldn’t put it down. Let’s go Book 3!

Wow!
I love the storyline, vampires, dragons, fae, mystical creatures, and humans. All, on some level, fighting to survive a world where the vampires rule with magic & blood. This book was very fast paced with lots of twists & turns. Truly a page turner. I can’t wait for the next book. Only thing I didn’t like is that it ended in a cliffhanger ☹️

The Bond That Burns! ❤️❤️
This is Book 2 in the Bloodwing Academy series and it was amazing!! This book sucked me in from start to finish!! I fell more in love with the characters and friend group.. and of course Neville! The story itself is captivating and well written. Each character is unique and fun. I felt more deeply for Blake in this book and loved the chemistry between him and Pendragon even more. There is just something about a powerful yet broken MMC that has me swooning! I cannot wait for book three- I am quickly becoming obsessed with this series!! ❤️❤️

Such a fantastic series. A wonderfully found family with academy setting reminiscent of Hogwarts except with dragons, dragon riders and vampires. Medra and Blake’s bond is the best slow burn. True enemies to lovers bully romance. The second half is book2 had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Can’t wait for Book3.
