If properly cared for, will last a lifetime!
First time using carbon steel - so far so good! Was curious to try it since, much like cast iron, carbon steel will last a lifetime if properly seasoned and cared for. It’s a fraction of the weight of cast iron, making it much more manageable (especially when the pan is full).I read that generally with carbon steel, the factory seasoning should be scrubbed off and the pan should be re-seasoned for best results. So I scrubbed the pan with Barkeepers Friend until the silvery metal was exposed underneath. This took some time, so I recommend putting on an episode of your favorite show if you do this. Then heated it over on the stovetop until dry, and brushed with a very thin layer of oil and heated it. I seasoned it in 2-3 rounds and the seasoning seemed to stick nicely. Looking forward to having a nice, naturally nonstick wok!

Great Heat Retention
The pan does require some care – like drying immediately after washing and occasional re-seasoning – but it’s worth it. Over time, it only gets better.If you’re looking for a durable, versatile pan that can handle high-heat cooking and improve with use, this one delivers. A great tool for anyone who loves real cooking.

This is a horrible wok due to rust after cooking even if you wash it quickly & dried right after using it.

As a member of the GreenPan kitchen team, I tested this product and I’m excited to share my review.I've now cooked two different dishes with the Kyoto Carbon Steel 14" Wok – a Pad Thai and a Glass Noodles Stir Fry – and both were huge hits!Honestly, cooking with this wok has been a game changer. The food does not stick at all, and everything, including the chicken, cooked evenly. I didn’t even have to use much oil, which is a huge plus for me. The heat distribution is fantastic, and I love how the wok has a great weight to it, which makes it so comfortable to handle.The wok’s pre-seasoned carbon steel material really lives up to the hype. It develops a naturally slick nonstick layer the more you use it, so I can already tell it will only get better with time. The sloped sides made it super easy to stir, and the flat base ensures quick heating on all stovetops, including induction.The two meals I made were very well received by my friends, and they’re already asking for me to make them again this week!! Which, I’m not against at all! I’ve truly never been this excited to try new recipes and explore different cuisines. I even went to the Asian market immediately after getting the wok to gather all the ingredients I needed. This wok has made cooking so much easier and more enjoyable, I could see myself using it on repeat for sure! Quick meals for the win!It’s definitely a product I’d consider gifting as well, especially since it’s ultra-durable and designed to last a lifetime. Amazing wok, beautifully designed with flavor that reminds me of home!
As a member of the GreenPan kitchen team, I tested this product and I’m excited to share my review.I've been looking for years for a reasonably sized wok that sat comfortably in my tiny New York apartment flat gas stove that could emulate homecooked meals I had growing up without a giant open flame or the hefty weight of the pan. Even if I moved to a new apartment with an induction or electric stove, I'm happy to know I can cook on any of those in the future with it!This Wok was able to heat up super quickly, made my fried rice super crispy but never burned my food. The handle was truly stay-cool, as alot of my previous pans I was always afraid to touch the handle after a while of cooking, you could tell that this Wok's handle was so well-made and never changed temperature.I have so many stir-fry recipes to make on this Wok this week, I'm super excited and highly recommend this for any first time Wok cookers!I appreciate that the instructions for taking care of this Wok were easy to follow and straight-forward as well. Honestly, if you love cooking and want a wok that’ll last forever, this one’s a no-brainer. Totally worth it!

Not a very good quality product!
The quality of this pan is not as good as the ones with ceramic non-stick wok pan. It gets scratches and stains after using.

I did receive the wok but with thorn packaging. The box was thorn exposing the wok. As a result, there was some scratches inside the wok. It's not worth returning it due to this minor scratches. The wok itself is a great product because I have already used it once. This rating is for wok.Thanks!

Heats Fast, Cooks Fast
Love this wok. It was able to fit on the large burner unlike my old wok, so despite carbon steel being harder to heat than aluminum this pan gets hot very quickly. I need to make sure I use enough oil or beef can stick but it cooks very fast and is capable of searing while you stir fry which was very impressive
