I am particular about my bags, opting for the one bag that does it all over the many that get close. Consequently, I have one bag in my closet - this bag. In fact, both of my teenage kids each have their own a well. Why? I almost opted for the Pakt One bag, and I had previously well used a Filson Pullman, both because they were a great carry-on-able bag with great volume that served for small to medium length trips. The Fjallraven bag won out in the end because of cost and portability.It’s the shoulder straps. Having walked through my fair share of airports, to and through the bus terminals, and across foreign cities, being able to evenly put the weight on the shoulders is a god send. A bag stuffed full for a vacation/business trip, lopsidedly hanging over a shoulder, looks cool and feels portable - for a bit. Then the shoulder starts aching, you start shifting the bag, and the vaguely superior feeling you had over the tourists running their roller bags over city streets starts to disappear. Enter this bag.Each zippered side carries a surprising amount of stuff, there is a middle zippered pouch for an ipad or laptop that is easily accessible but well protected, and there are two external zippered pockets that will accommodate a paperback book, tickets or directions, etc. There are also handles that make great attachment points for a water bottle.The Splitpack is well designed and well made. Before this bag, I had only purchased Fjallraven clothing. Recently, before heading out on a two week long trip (half work, half pleasure) I needed something bigger than my REI 44 litre hiking pack. Something that could hold a second pair of shoes and compartmentalize dirty clothes. I found it in this bag. And I realized after this trip that I valued much more space than fancy riggings and back support. When I go camping, I never have to carry my bag on my back for more than a mile. The extra space a bag this size and shape can provide is invaluable. And it’s hyper durable to boot.

I have been wanting this bag for a couple of years and I finally decided to get it. It is so great. I love the split feature and the dividers. Fjallraven makes great products with great quality. This bag is so handy to use as a backpack or a carry on. I was surprised at how much I could fit in it. It is well worth the price.

Purchased this to use as carry-on travel bag. So much less awkward to traverse a crowded airport with this on my back instead of dragging a clumsy rollerbag. This bag has all the squishability benefits of a regular duffel bag without the ergonomic nightmare of the single shoulder strap that most duffels offer. Very pleased with the quality and function of this bag.

This is heavy duty, super sturdy, and the 2 compartments are very spacious. The right amount of space for packing my life into 1 bag.

The split pack is really useful, allowing you to park both compartments separately (everything is held in place by interior mesh) along with an additional center compartment. The whole bag zips together info a duffel bag. Really great setup and very useful for travel. One complaint is that the exterior seems to collect dog hair, but that's true of most fabrics!
