What you see is what you get. A sturdy, no frills reel that has reliable stop / retract functionality. As per another reviewer, if this could have been made for outdoor use it would have been brilliant, especially given the mounting option.I do have a concern regarding the ability to leave the cord coiled (even partially) and then have some high draw tools / appliances running from it. This is not a problem exclusive to this cable reel but one that should be pointed out; there is no mention of thermal cutout protection and I wasn't willing to damage the unit or risk a fire to test it. Given the price, it is something I'd expect to have for peace of mind.This reel is solid, but there are many other retractable (dry only) cable reels that I'd feel more comfortable recommending over this because of their added protection features. Maybe something for the manufacturer to look at in a v2?

This is exactly what I needed for in the garage! I only have a double wall socket in there and it's always been awkward with trailing cables whenever I've been working in there with power tools. I've mounted this on the ceiling beam (it's fairly low) and it allows me to use tools much easier.The extenstion itself is sturdy and well made, and from my inspection I couldn't see any faults with it. The length of the cable is more than enough for my needs, and the adjustable stopper in handy too. My only gripe is that I wish the socket had some sort of waterproof cover so I could use it in the garden with the power washer, but other than that I recommend it.
