My 4 year old grandson loves it, my 10 & 11 year old grandsons are a little jealous (they have there own around the Christmas tree) but his is actually bigger the track sets up into three different configurations and it’s pretty cool & he loves the remote. I almost bought the Lionel one that spoke, but it didn’t have a remote it was like $30 more, but no remote. That was the first thing he looked for when he opened the box was the remote control! Lol I was surprised they packed this set into such a small box! Years ago when my son (34 yrs) was his age this would have been in a box 4x this size with each car in a foam section. Now they just bubble wrapped the cars and cram the tracks in on top of each other. No hope of getting it back in that little box. I bought a locking bin with dividers to protect it better!

Super cute! Sings and has actual steam. Batteries were included. My son put it together in 5 minutes. Also looks like you can add on additional cars.

Easy to put together. My daughter has a blast! Originally received one with some track pieces missing. Had to return it for a new one.

Our youngest decided a few days before Christmas that he wanted a blue train with a remote. He loves this train!

Classic Train (Blue)All the items are lightweight plastic so have to be handled carefully and the trucks will jump the track if the track is not completely level on a firm surface. The tracks are easy to fit together but the battery connections are tiny, flimsy things and should be far more robust for the regular use that they get, so I have doubts about their durability. Be sure to pull out the antenna of the remote control to its full extent to extend the range of the signal to about 2 metres (6 feet) max. A problem with the sound effects is that you switch them on with a "sounds" button on the remote control but can only switch them off with the "stop" button, which stops the train in addition to stopping the sound. So you can't just sound the whistle as the train approaches a bend without then stopping the train and starting it again. The set is a nice colourful little toy for young children but is let down by the poor attention to details such as I've mentioned and is expensive for what you get. Also, in addition to the inability to buy "extras" to expand the layout, supply is poor. I bought a set from Amazon UK for Christmas but to expand the layout could only buy another set from the US because none were available in the UK.

We bought this train for our 3-year-old grandson. We've had a few weeks and so far it still runs just fine. The track is easy to assemble and the detail on the train cars is very nice. Another plus is that the stream is made from water, no chemicals. I had an issue with no steam and reading some of the other threads I found turning the engine upside down and shaking it a little did the trick.The track included is really nice and allows a figure eight to be assembled making it more fun to watch. Also, the sounds are one of our grandsons' favorite features. You do need to have the remote close to the train to operate. You are able to run the train without any sounds, two speeds and forward and reverse.The small screw on the engine top piece that holds the battery is a joke, but it's not needed because the cover will stay in place without it. Overall, a good value and I'd buy another. The biggest drawback is the very short wire to plug the battery into the engine, having a little more wire would be very helpful - but it's not a big enough reason to not buy it.

Train didn't blow smoke. Tried to replace but a month later and replacement never sent, so I canceled the order and kept the smokeless train. Disappointed.

Very disappointed! I purchased the train set as a Christmas gift for my grandson who loves trains! He was so excited to open it, however, once opened and assembled it did not work! The train lights would come on but the train would not move around the track at all! He is playing with it anyway because that was his gift. I chatted with Amazon about getting another one but they will only replace it if I return the original broken one! I cannot take his train toy away from him since he is too young to understand that I have to return it to get another one! It is too bad since the train is really cute!
