Very sticky, very impressed!
So, despite this products name, I didn't actually use it as a "deck" or "joist" tape.I needed a thin, flexible and durable tape, but with a very very strong adhesive on it, to seal an air leak on a very tired hypalon inflatable boat tube. All previous attempts to patch it had failed and we were getting desperate!Well, this stuff is brilliant! following other recommendations and with prior experience with similar products, the key to getting the very best out of this is, is to gently heat the tape before applying.Personally, I cut the tape into appropriate sized strips, then gently wafted each one over the top of a heat gun on medium power, glue side towards the heat, just until the tape started to go really soft and droop, maybe 5.. 10seconds max, then just affix it to whatever your trying to seal and push down hard and manipulate out any air bubbles. That bit of heat seems to really activate the glue and it sealed my leak issue. I left it a couple of hours to set and then tested upto tube pressure of 3psi and it had sealed perfectly.

Perfect.
This joist tape is great! Just the job for patching splits in garage flooring.

A bit expensive, but great quality
This is standard butyl tape, great for waterproofing many different surfaces. It is strong with good flexibility, and has excellent sticking power. Don’t get it stuck to itself, you will never be able to separate it; learn from my mistake. It sticks best to smooth surfaces, so if you are using it on wood then it’s worth sanding it to make it as smooth as possible. The price per roll for the 6-inch version is £28, which seems a little high, there are cheaper options. As usual, buy in bulk to get a significant discount.Overall I would say buy a bit more than you think you need, that way if mistakes are made you can always correct them immediately.

Stick It and Forget It! 🏠🛠
I’ve used this butyl joist tape on a deck project, and it seems like a solid option for waterproofing. The tape is easy to install thanks to its self-adhesive backing and simple peel-off film. I just cleaned the surface, cut it to size, and applied it, and it was done. It provides a great seal, keeping moisture away from wooden joists and metal beams, which should prevent any rot or corrosion. What I like most is its durability. It’s built to withstand extreme temperatures and harsh weather, which is great for outdoor projects. The tape holds up well in both cold and hot conditions, from -20°F to 230°F. Plus, it adheres well to a variety of surfaces like wood, metal, and plastic, making it versatile for different uses around the home. The tape takes up to 24 hours to fully set, but once it does, it sticks firmly. Just be sure to warm it up a bit in colder weather to get the best adhesion. It’s an easy, reliable way to protect structures and keep them lasting longer.

Easy to use and strong.
This tape has been used mostly in the loft on a few different areas. And has gone on perfectly and without issue. Finish is good, seems to work great. Highly Recommended.

Very tough stuff!
I have a large deck out the back and we’ve been experiencing a huge amount of rain the past few months and after hearing horror stories from others with decking and witnessing my dads collapse in the middle due to rot I thought I’d do something to prolong the life of all the hard work I’d put in building my deck.Ive simply taken up the boards and ran this tape along the top of the joists. A quick afternoon job.The tape is crazy sticky and no other adhesive is required for the install. You will need some scissors or Stanley knife to cut it to size though as its pretty tough stuff.Overall Im very impressed with this stuff and can rest in the knowledge Ive probably added another decade or two to the life of my deck. Excellent stuff!
