It's the real deal.
I purchased this B3 do to the mg content. I am very sensitive to B3 and had a very bad experience with a higher dose. while I did get a little red in the face and very slight itching those effects only lasted for 15 minutes max. That let me know it's the real deal. I will by weekly go up in dose and see if it improves my blood pressure. So far so good. I would recommend this product to anyone wanting to take B3.

Terrible product
I had started taking niacin with Dr. Clark’s 25mg and moved to 2 per day for Tinnitus. The ringing disappeared. The Dr. Clark’s niacin became unavailable and still is. I took one small Mercola mini pill and the ringing came back with a vengeance when it should have silenced it. Took an hour for it to wear off. Stay away from this.

Differentiator is conveniently small, 50mg tablet size
Since I consider niacin a relative commodity, I don't typically pay attention to aspects of niacin products beyond capsule or tablet size, and cost. I've been bouncing between different brands for quite some time since first being prescribed 1000mg of niacin per day, split evenly between morning and evening, and I started consistently getting 500mg tablets from a generic brand called Major earlier this year because it's inexpensive at $0.09 per tablet at current prices. In the past, I've periodically used the Dr. Mercola brand due to its typical emphasis on natural ingredients, but in the case of this Niacin product I'm not seeing any such claims. From what I can tell, the only real differentiator is its small, 50mg tablet size. I've often commented in reviews of supplements that it can provide some flexibility when supplements are made available in smaller doses. In the case of niacin, this aspect is especially helpful since physicians will typically recommend a gradual increase each day until the desired dose is reached, due to the "flushing" which might otherwise result, keeping in mind that non-flushing niacin is apparently not as effective. The product description here mentions that this is a "low-dose niacin formula that does not cause flushing", but I'm not sure whether this is accurate because the bottle doesn't say anything about this being a non-flushing formula. I'm seeing that the above statement is followed by the disclaimer "(when taken according to directions)", and the "suggested use" on the product labeling directs to "take one (1) tablet three times daily", but this would only be equivalent to 150mg a day, a far smaller volume than I need to take, so "when taken according to directions" must be code for "when taking a small dosage". As this small dosage probably won't apply to many customers, I would ignore this part of the product description. The simple math personally tells me that 270 tablets per jar contains 13,500mg of niacin, meaning that if I were to consistently use this product each day a jar would only last me 13.5 days at my current dosage. When solely considering cost per milligram compared to Major, a jar of Dr. Mercola is equivalent to 27 tablets (13,500/500=27). So a current cost of $0.09 per Major tablet means $2.43 total for 27 tablets compared to a current cost of $19.97. Yes, the cost of Major versus Dr. Mercola is almost the same per tablet at $0.09 versus $0.07, respectively, but each tablet of Major provides 10x the amount of niacin.

Love Mercola Products
Be SURE to take with a meal not just a light meal but something of substance especially if you are small because it does cause flushing in me about half an hour later if I don’t eat enough along with it. If you’ve never experienced flushing, imagine your face feeling tingly and suddenly your arms and hands too and you look sunburned. It lasts about an hour. Not your best look so just be aware. I am small in stature so even this low dose does it to me but all I do to prevent it is drink a protein smoothie with plenty of add-ins and that’s when I take half of my supplements for the day. Your skin needs this! And your blood vessels.
