After getting a new smart tv I needed to replace my old headphones (12+ years old). I use them for watching TV while others are asleep, as well as due to hearing loss in one of my ears.The product comes with everything you need - including the optical cable (a prior Q&A said it was not included - it is). The packaging and instructions are very well done/professional. I had previously played around with my TV settings, so I knew I had a couple of options for setting them up (optical or 3.5 mm audio out). My biggest concerns were having the sound to the headphones AND sound to the TV so others could watch, and potential latency.Setup - easy. Everything worked perfectly. Note that depending on your TV you may need to make some adjustments to the setup. Instructions are included, but each TV is a little different. Don't be afraid to experiment.For example, on my TV if I use the 3.5 mm the TV speakers will not work (no option). However the optical allows for sound from both AND I can control the volume independently on each.Latency - none. Actually I get the sound thru the headphones ever so slightly prior to the sound coming from the TV speakers. So actually FASTER than the TV.Support - Very good instuctions. Phone numbers for support (I did not use). Also received an e-mail a couple days later with more support options including videos... and a reminder to complete the registration for the warranty (indicates 24 months).Battery - Took less than 2 hours to charge (it states about 3.5). I have used them so far for at least 5+ hours and have not had to recharge. I think they claim up to 40 hours. I would be happy with 1/2 that.Range - more than sufficient. Can't say I am getting 100, but even through walls I am getting at least 40+ More than enough.Sound - I am not an efficianado with sound. Having said that, it sounds great to me and am very pleased with the sound quality.So I don't do reveiws for everything I buy. At the end of the day I am super happy with this purchase. Seem very solid, great performance so far, and do exactly what I wanted/hoped they would do. Had been worried about a couple of items, but everything is even better than I had hoped for. Would absolutly buy again.

My husband and I are both seniors in our "young age" of 80's.We have an unusual experience connecting the headphone I bought from Amazon (HT4189). I contacted Amazon Dept of Product Support and asked direction and guidance from several people since April 5 when I received the product. I also contacted a couple of people at Avantree and Samsung TV and all of them failed to assist me to connect the headphone to the Samsung TV.I bought this TV a month ago and the Avantree HT 4189 is described as compatible for Smart TVs with built-in Bluetooth (e.g., 2024 Samsung Tvs with a Hassle-Free set Up)However, since April 5, I am so disappointed and frustrated because whenever I contacted the people from SamsungTV, Amazon and Avantree, they either refer me to other department, hang the phone and the waiting time ranges from 40 minutes to over an hour and when I was finally connected they said that I need to return it because the product is defective. I bought another product (Nuuoi) and I have the same experience.I feel that I am a basketball dribbled from 3 companies and could not reach the goal to score.When I called Amazon for the the last time, (I even requested for a supervisor to talk to), she stated they are not well-equipped to give me technical support and said that they can help me only regarding shipment, returns, orders of the product.I emailed the Avantree technical support again, and requested for them to call me on Saturday. Today (4/18) is my lucky day as I receive a call from REI, from Avantree technical support team. She guided my husband and me to connect the headphone to the Samsung TV. What I understand (correct me if I am wrong), for Smart Tvs with built-in Bluetooth, the HT 4189 headphones can pair directly via Bluetooth and in this case, slide the transmitter to "OFF" because there is no need to use the transmitter.Rei, is amazing! She is so patient, soft spoken, and guide us with so much expertise! After so many people I have encountered just to hook the headphone to the Samsung TV is a breath of fresh air for me. I was excited when I hear the sound from the headphone and the frustrations and disappointments I had was totally erased in my being.Maybe, you would think I was too dramatic but the quality of the sound is soothing to my ear for the first time. Rei also directed us on the how to charge which is also easy to follow.I would advise the readers that if you will have a problem with Avantree HT 4189, contact directly the seller and ask for Rei. She is an angel. She knows the minute details on how to connect the headphones to the TV.Thank you so much, Rei!

These headphones were delivered overnight, very well packaged, and in pristine condition. The setup, connection, and use instructions were minimalistic and very poor, as they are for most Chinese made products. That said, all the connecting cables were well made, well packaged, and present. Everything worked perfectly and I can hear clealry through the headphones anywhere in our home. The headphones are comfortable, the sound is very clear, and there is plenty of amplification headroom for people with hearing problems. I am very happy with my purchase.
