Great book for M.Sc. Mathematics
This book is a continuation of auther's, volume I, second edition. The book vol. has been written with the same underlaying philosophy that prevailed in the first. Sound training in technique is combined with strong theriotical development. As in vol. I, historical remarks are included to give student sense of participation in evolution of ideas!!!This book is little bit theriotical but explain all the necessary reason, all the concepts in advance calculus. There is lot of exercise problems from which one can learn more about maths.Book gives best knowledge of the subject.I bought it from Amazon with great fast delivery. You can buy this book for your library also, it is one of the best maths book to build pure concepts. That's why the book that is prescrbed as text book by Pune University.

Highly recommended for begineers
The book covers a lot of material from linear algebra, differential equations to intro to numerical analysis.Linear Algebra part could be tricky but overall this book provides a great overview of all related topics in multivariable calculus.

Classic
A Classic book having strong mathematical rigor. Not an easy read. Excercises are coceptual. Historical background of each topic adds beauty. Background in basic Calculus, proof writing, algebra needed to study the book in detail. Takes time to complete each chapter but is enjoyable.

Vol. II
Its first volume is amazing and so as second. For me, this is a great book to study calculus. Covers whatever is needed and is awesome to read. Contains exercises after every topic, answers are at the end of the book.

Does the job reasonably well, but not an enjoyable read
Covers all aspects of multi-variable calculus. Some topics from single variable calculus and matrix calculus are discussed as well. I find the explanations to be very dry and boring, and quite inconsistent - some sections are explained really well, rest seem like happening by magic. The book is not suitable for self-study and not at all fun to work through.Be aware though that the book is almost entirely theoretical and has very little in way of solved examples and exercises. This book could be fine as a supplementary text/reference, but almost completely useless as a primary text. I was surprised to learn that this book is the primary calculus text in BSc courses in several universities !
