Fantastic to use, if a bit tall and heavy
It's a great hybrid between a monopod and a tripod and I think it's ideal for someone with a heavy camera and lens who wants a bit of stability assistance. My only criticism is the weight. Compared to my tall carbon fibre monopod from Benro, this is definitely much heavier and doesn't fold down to such a compact size. That's a compromise that I'm willing to live with with though because, in use, this monopod is fantastic. The ease of height changing and locking/unlocking the tilt with my foot is just what I hoped it would be.

Fantastic and sturdy
Can't praise this enough. I wanted a solid sturdy monopod for my heavy wildlife lens so I got this. I'm only 5ft4, and I thought the 145 would be tall enough. With the tripod base it is but without it and with wimberly mh100 I wanted a bit more so I also got the extension tube. The monopod feels quality, strong and durable. The rapid release is fantastic and I love how easy it is to pull down and release the lens and head for when I want to walk and carry the lens. It comes with a strong bag and handle. It is a bit longer when compact so it's not as easy to travel with and it is heavier than a ligjt travel monopod, but I prefer the trade off to know my camera and lens are on something that feels so much more sturdier. I also have to say customer support is fantastic as I was interested in another accessory for the monopod and they have been super helpful. Will be returning to Sirui again when I decide to get a tripod.

A mistake
I like Sirui and I already have a large tripod and ball head from them. I bought this item because I thought it would be smaller and lighter than my travel tripod, but still have the feet for stability. Seemed perfect. It is not.Firstly it is heavy (maybe because it is well made), but more importantly when at it's most compact it is still very long (much longer than any travel tripod). But worst of all is that it is not very stable. Forget long exposures. Also the way to level the head is to turn a lever at the bottom - so you cannot see the spirit level and tighten it at the same time! I can just about tighten the screw at the bottom with my boot while looking at the level, but to get it perfect you'll need TWO people. To top it off the quick release plate is not actually a normal Arca Swiss format. Once on the camera it will not slide into the head of my other Sirui head or my travel tripod.I'm just going to stick with my travel tripod - it makes no sense to take this thing out. I guess the little legs combined with the head make a cute tabletop tripod. My own fault - should have better researched it.

Is it a rattle snake?
This product rattles a lot, like way too much for it's price and no professional will be walking around with it, will ruin any on camera audio
