International version works just fine here in the States. Perfect, basic tablet for browsing the web, watching YouTube videos, or playing games like Runescape or other games that don't require lots of hardware resources. Camera is basically junk, the screen is acceptable, and it runs smoothly enough. Delete/disable as much of the Samsung bloatware as you can, throw on a cheap case with a kickstand, put on a screen protector, and you're good to go. Expandable storage is nice to have, can load up a MicroSD card with movies/shows for long flights and such.I'm very glad I bought this tablet, especially for the price.

I am very pleased with the A9. And it does work very well in the US. When setting it up I chose Uruguay and set the language to American English and I've had no problems with any apps loading and working. It has plenty of onboard memory, but I did use a 64gb SD card to store my movies.The tablet is quick and the screen is very vibrant, apps have no lag. Multi-screen works well. Battery life is pretty decent and three days of light browsing and reading other Kindle app. For the price it's can't be beat.

For an entry level tablet, this A9 is hard to beat. True, it is not officially for the US market, so you will have no warranty after your return period. But functionally it works great — just get by the non-English Welcome Page.Other tablets under $150 do not come with a Helio G99 processor. Some reviewers on YouTube even use this for light gaming. The display is unfortunately only TFT WXGA, so don’t expect great text clarity. There is also some display backlight bleeding which I notice near some edges on startup in a dark room, although in a lit room it did not bother me. I currently have a cheap Lenovo M8 FHD tablet, and that IPS display is noticeably better. The sound quality on the A9 was certainly better than expected.I did expect a bit better craftsmanship. The aluminum back is a step up from the plastic used on many others in this range. But on the edges, the transition from glass display to the body is not smooth. It also would have been good to have a taper to the body there, which makes the tablet easier to hold in one hand.My product box did not have any seal on it, and there were marks over some barcodes, so it is hard to tell if these are new or re-manufactured. Mine appeared new. Unfortunately, tablets don’t have a long term hours used meter to verify.

This works in the US. A Samsung account is required to change the region in the settings AFTER device is fully set up. As long as you read the prompts during set up and aren't bothered by switching C⁰ to F⁰ this is a great tablet.I purchased this for my 4yo to complete homeschool assignments, edit videos (super simple editing for a kid), read music, watch videos and learn coding. I needed access to Google Play store to ensure all the apps we've purchased on a second device were accessible. Her fire tablet didn't have access without installing a bunch of APK files in a specific order.All features are accessible, play store works as expected and I have not run into any limitationS when using the international model in the US.The sound quality is great, colors are vibrant and the size is great to put in a backpack or purse. It's light enough for a kid or those with arthritis, carpal tunnel or other hand mobility differences.The battery life is decent and lasts more than a day with moderate use. It does take a long time to charge up, so we have to be sure to charge up at night.Definitely a great tablet and value. I may have to get a second for myself so I can keep my iPad for work completely separate from personal.Buy it!

Update December 2024, 5 months later. Tablet is completely dead. It was barely used for the first couple of months and now it refuses to turn on. I’ve done all the troubleshooting steps, it won’t accept a charge, I tried several different chargers and usb c cables. It’s deader than a door nail.I spent some time talking to Samsung customer support only to realize that Samsung does not offer a warranty for an international sold tablet even though it’s sold domestically here, note to self, don’t buy this tablet unless you don’t want a warranty, you would be better off buying an Amazon fire 8 inch tablet. Colossal waste of moneyThe tablet is great, I was supposed to receive a 15 W USB-C charger instead I was given a 10 W USB A charger, sort of like fitting a Square peg into a round hole. Then I spent the last 30 minutes wasting my time talking to Amazon customer service reps who wouldn’t helpnone of them wanted to help, one of them sent me a weird link to a Canada link of a USB A to USB C cable which then changed my location to Canada, crashing the app, then I couldn’t access customer service again because it was showing up in wrong country. I was finally able to contact somebody, but he said that there’s nothing they can do in Canada for me and they wouldn’t turn me over to someone else, so I had to delete the app and start over, or the story is, the deal is a little bit strange,It forced me to pretend that I was in the UAE and the language on the screen was Arabic, which makes no sense, I was able to make it English, I wish it was stated as such in the information, the information related to this tablet is very lackingUpdate: was able to finally talk to a nice lady Sharon who was able to give me a credit to a Samsung 15w usb c charger. The previous reps I communicated with I clearly stated that fact and they kept asking if I needed a different tablet to use the charger I got, or offered a completely different charger and one of them said there was nothing they could do. Sharon was different. She could read what I said and knew the solution immediately.The tablet is good but it’s actually an international edition. It’s barely mentioned anywhere on the advertisement. I’m surprised you can purchase this model in this country. So I just chose South Africa because it was the closest thing to America that was available. This tablet will never be connected to an LTE service so it’s not big deal. Android 14 is great. It’s snappy and responsive. Of all the tablets out there this was the best deal. And there’s more choices for tablet cases and screen protectors than other cheap tablets out there.
