Works very well for me
The unit is sufficiently well made for a DIY person who does not want to spend the money to buy a Rothernberger but wants to avoid the really cheap stuff that is out there. The instruction are in a strange version of English and the captions are barely legible. I've used on of these things before so I know what I am doing, if you are new to this then check out Youtube videos that will show you what to do. The connection pipe is a 1/2 BSP connection which I hooked up to a Flexi pipe connector (flexible tap connector) with a 15mm isolation valve on the other end. I connected the 15mm to a plastic push fit pipe and straight connector which I used to connect to the pipes I wanted to test. I am only testing UK 15mm domestic plumbing and I pump up the tester to 5 bar to do this, you can go much higher if required but 5 bar is plenty for my type of work. I leave the sections under test pressurised for an hour. It does what it is supposed to do at a reasonable price for DIY levels of work which is good enough for me.

Helps find leaks.
It is cheap. It is easy to rig up with a flexible hose connector and a ball valve to get on 15mm. I found a leak straight away with it. It does loose pressure on its own. I was taking it upto 5bar and leaving it there for 24hrs. Sometimes it would depressure, without signs of the pipe work leaking so I guess it is the pump apparatus somewhere. Overall it is better than an air one.

Poor quality control & design.
This pressure tester is fitted with a gauge that goes up to 70 bar, however the supplied hose has a safe pressure limit of 20 bar. Mine arrived with a buckled gauge dial so I had to spend another £6.45 to buy a new 20 bar gauge on eBay.
