Great option for EDC storage
To be honest, I'm astonished at how much I like this safe. At this price point, I wasn't expecting too much, but I was wrong. You can tell a lot about a product during the unboxing, and this is no different. Complete, well-packaged, it inspires confidence when you unpack it. Everything you need is there. Well thought-out features, like 3 entry options (key, keypad, biometric), a backup power port in case your battery dies and you can't find the key (hook up a USB-C cable and power your keypad). Simple one-button programming. Biometric allows you to enter the same finger multiple times to improve recognition (a lesson I learned from my iPhone). I mounted mine vertically, so the gas cylinder option is the way to go for me. Eases the door down instead of slamming. If you go flat, like on a nightstand, then you can probably get by without the gas option and save a few bucks. Solidly built, mine is mounted to a stud and two anchors. The only *minor* complaint was that it rattled just a bit when closed (if you bump it), but I solved that personal nit by adding a strip of thin foam tape at the top where the door closed. Rattle gone. I've wanted something near the garage door where I can pick up/dump my EDC without going back to the safe every time, and this is just the ticket.

Pretty Cool
This was something I've wanted for a while. It's not like a must have, just a want. I put mine near the front door to store gun, keys other valuables when I'm not occupying the living room (or not home). It looks nice, durable, easy to mount, and performs all functions as advertised. I was surprised it read my print as well as it did. If fact so good, you wont use the code you programed into it and will forget it! :-)Easy to program with good padding on the inside, nice coated finish on the outside. If I had to nit pick about something, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - the battery assembly appears a little difficult to remove. in doing so, if you use a tool to grab or pri it out, you could easily snap the solder connection on the battery assembly. I thought this happened to me but did not. I can see how a little more force would have damaged it (the battery assembly / when removing). Be careful!Oh, last thing..... I use magnets all over my house. This cabinet attracts magnets great. I've already attached to selves to it (with magnets). Easy on / Easy off - lots of pocket storage. Oh and anther thing - I really appreciate the inside light that comes on when door is open. And they were smart enough to turn the light off after about 2-3 minutes if you leave the door open (like I do most the time I'm home)

Serves its purpose
Decent price for what you get. Sturdy. Easy to install. I can actually be where it is and no one knows it’s there. I got the gas version and it’s mounted in the wall but it does not open easily. I hear the unlocking but I have to pull it a little to get it to open. I’d think it should just automatically start to come down. (Will find a tiny command hook or knob for it) Not sure if it’s user error or the device itself. It only stored one fingers print. Holds a S&W .380 with 2 boxes of ammo. I can appreciate being able to turn the sound off so no one in the house knows I’m doing something.

Two years experience: hasn’t failed me yet.
Title says it all. Works as it should, was a decent price, and has yet to fail me. I have had pretty accurate readings with the biometrics too, pooping the door successfully on majority of first attempts. If you are buying this $100 safe with the expectation of Apple biometrics from 1k devices or such, then you are not very intelligent. Practice opening it, train with it, check it regularly. Fits a large sized pistol with ease and extra magazines, but the stick on holder has been useless in my experience (you can’t stash an arm in there and have the magazines hanging up without awkward placement or the arm sticking out of the workable space; just place the magazines on the bottom and the arm on top). Absolutely recommend!

Good, Very Budget Conscious Safe
I have two VAULTEK Safe’s I like a lot even though they are way over-engineered. But I wanted a wall safe for a specific section of my house - and this was the only safe I could find.Pleasantly surprised. Half the price of VAULTEK but the biometric scanner seems to work a lot better. The keypad is easy to program. Simple installation. One thing I actually do like a lot is that XDeer uses regular batteries (AAA) instead of USB rechargeable batteries, which means you don’t have to worry about hunting down a replacement LI-ON battery in five to ten years.Biggest issue is sizing. This will hold a full sized handgun but if you had spare magazines to the mag holder it’s a really tight fit. I doubt very much that you could accommodate 15 or 19 round magazines either (not an issue for me because I live in California). If you plan on staging a full sized pistol in this safe, I wouldn’t but on extra mags.Really could have been solved by making the safe a bit deeper and a bit wider. The safe also doesn’t open fast, but because of the clearances does take an extra few seconds to clear the safe. Add in more time if you keep magazines in the mag pouch. If you are planning to use this as a main line of home defense - keep it in mind. But also a lot of these issues go away if you just opt to stage a sub-compact or micro 9mm in the safe. Personally, I’d still opt for a slider safe if I wanted something I could access fast - like in a bedroom at night during a burglary. But that wasn’t my use case and this works just fine for what I wanted.
