Our patio/pool area has a tropical theme, and I'm always looking for ways to enhance that feeling. We have a shed that sits adjacent to that area, and I was looking for a way to dress it up a bit.I wanted to add some thatch to it so I ordered this XLX TURF Mexican Artificial Thatch. I am really pleased with the quality of this thatch! It has a nice rubber backing, and the thatch is stitched solidly to that backing.The thatch can be installed in many different ways. I wanted to use it as a sort of edging. Using a sharp utility tool, I cut lengths of the thatch from the backside to my desired length. Then, using self-tapping metal screws, I attached them to the metal edge of my shed. I overlapped the edges of the pieces so there were no gaps.This thatch looks so incredibly realistic and tropical! It made the back side of my shed look so much better, and now it looks like it "fits" the rest of my patio/pool area! The thatch was so easy to work with, and it's so much sturdier than I was expecting! I'm impressed by the quality, and very happy I ordered this!

We have an 8x10 gazebo in the back yard that we are decorating in a Tiki style. I originally wanted to cover the whole roof with thatch, but the math says that would be way too expensive. So, instead, I just ran a strip of this along the perimeter of the roof line. Fifteen feet was not enough to do the whole gazebo. I cut the strip in half down the center and used the 30 linear feet as far as it would go. I attached with thick gorilla double sided outdoor tape. I like the look of the thatch along the edge, but once the backing is cut into, it looks like it will unravel over time. For now though, it's working and looking good. I'm calling this a good value.

We love the thatch roof. It was really easy to install, just a few staples here and there. I was worried it was going to be rough but it was really easy to cut. It's fairly thick so you don't have to worry about any holes. This really was the key to our tropical bar

UPDATE: CONTACTED MANUFACTURER/SELLER WITH PHOTOS AND ABSOLUTELY NO HELP CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND QUALITY PRODUCTS ARE NOT THEIR PRIORITY!I am beyond disappointed in the quality of this thatch!I tried to gently brush over the bald spots but with the slightest touch, the thatch would fall off in chunks.I don't know if I got a defective set or if this is how the quality is? I read other reviews and no one else had a issue so I'm guessing I got a bad set?I reached out to CS with no help. A replacement would have been greatly appreciated.

This was a huge waste of time, and gas for everyone involved in shipping this to me, I'll tell you why;What I received was a long skinny piece of this thatched roof material. I wanted to use it on my porch, as a summer theme. Not only could I not use it, it was very hard to cut to try to do something with. The dimensions were 12"w x 15'l.The appearance was not full as shown in picture. It was sparse and the rubber type backing made my hands turn black, too!I have done this review after receiving a free product in exchange. Was it worth the trouble? No. Not at all.

This perfectly fit the gap under our bamboo fencing. The backing is pretty good and solid and I used a staple gun with long stables to attach it to the wood. It looks pretty good but I am concerned about how well it will weather over time. I also have mounted it in a different direction than it was stitched together, but hopefully it will lay properly as time goes by.The strands are thin plastic but they are attached pretty well and not many fell off at all while installing.

Decided I wanted to give my old backyard wood shed a makeover and this worked! Ordered the 15 foot long option. It easily cut into two 7.5 foot sections with a simple pair of household scissors. Pictures don't lie...... laid the two pieces on top and "WHA-LA!" Tropical thatch roof!!This is great stuff! Fun and festive. Strands are made out of plastic and tan colored to mimic a real grass thatch roof. About six inches long in length. Attached to a black rubber backing with weep holes in it for moisture to drain through. It's fun stuff to liven up your backyard patio bbq, tiki bar or even a simple old hand built wood shed!Sitting out in the yard now with my Hawaiian shirt on and a cold brew in hand and it's almost like being on vacation. Have fun sprucing up your own tropical retreat! Enjoy!!
