I needed this in a custom USB-C power application for the panel mounted end of the cable.It successfully allowed a 12V negotiated power request to occur and power to pass through.At least for power, this cable is fully USB-C compliant.

Works great with Raspberry Pi 4, no voltage or current issues. The inner nut is slipping a little if you apply too much torque or cross-thread. Be gentle.

Like a lot of people, I buy these things to have a permanent inlet in project boxes when building custom embedded devices around the Raspberry Pi 4, which uses USB-C for its power supply.There's one really annoying thing about this product, at least for what I'm using them for. The connectors are designed exclusively to mount on a thin metal plate. If you try to fasten them onto a plastic project box, you'll find that the connector doesn't stick through far enough for a USB-C plug to plug into it, requiring a *lot* of extra effort with a grinder to make the plastic thin enough for it to work (and I think I actually ended up removing the rubber from the front face of the connector, too. This product would be much, much better if the connector stuck out about one or two millimeters further so that it could accommodate easy mounting in metal or plastic, not just metal.Either that or they could fix the problem by making the screw wings stick out a lot further, so that it would be possible to make a hole in a plastic project box that's big enough to accommodate the body of a USB-C plug without removing the part of the project box that the mounting screws go through. Either way.Another problem I've encountered is that the metal plates that these ship with have a habit of puncturing the plastic bags, and then the screws fall out. When this happens, the products are kind of useless. The manufacturer really needs to use more robust packaging material, or screw the screws into the connector at the factory, or both.But when they aren't missing parts, they do get the job done. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find anything better, so it is what it is.

I purchased this item and while it supplies power as expected it does not transfer data. I tried it with three different device pairs, with the master at both ends, and with the connectors in each of the four possible configurations. None transferred data. When using this extension cable for USB-C with power delivery, the connector orientation matters. Power delivery will negotiate with only one orientation of an otherwise working cable plugged into the extension. This suggests that the extension cable's connector is not wired equally for both orientations.With respect to the molded in threaded inserts, on one side the inserts rotates, thus preventing tightening up the screw.Overall my sense is that this extension cable's quality is not high.
