Divine Comedy: Alighieri Dante (Barnes & Noble Collectible Editions)

Classic book with great illustrations.

Loved the book's presentation including the gold leaf page edging. The introduction was really helpful, as this is my first venture into Dante. It identified people and places which I would probably have had to look up elsewhere. I came to the conclusion that the rhyming would (naturally!) have been in the Italian manuscript but that is not a problem. Having read Milton a couple of years earlier I don't foresee this epic as anymore difficult. Am really looking forward to engaging with this.

Dont bother about this being a mistake (it will never be).It has everything one needs to see why this masterpiece must be celebrated through all ages.However there arent any notes to help you if you're a beginner. But in my opinion, one should purchase this along with the penguin classic edition of inferno, to help you with the first part. once you have a grip and flow, the other two parts are good to go.Happy reading!

Amazing quality, solid leather bound book, gold tipped pages for extra bling and extra flex.Contains the illustrations as well in the appropriate places.Brilliant. Very very happy.

I love the cover of the book, the leather looks excellent along with the golden pages. The illustrations are very detailed, and the quality is extremely high. I would definitely recommend this edition of the divine comedy for anyone looking for a beautiful book to put on display on their shelf.
