A Mint in Box Review
If, like me, you are buying this to keep in pristine condition and not to use it (or even open it) then read on.I will not review the music. The album is one of the best 2 that LZ did and in my view no one else has released a better album than this oneIt arrived well packed in 2 Amazon boxes. A sturdy cardboard LP box within a larger box with protective paper packing. So it looks like there is little chance on damage in transit. It is shrink wrapped and mine will stay that way.It has a sticker under the shrink wrap saying that it is a remastered album (by Jimmy). Not sure if this is different to the remastered LZIV that came out recently with the remasters of all their albums. It is a gatefold sleeve, but I cannot tell whether both sides are open for inserts. One obviously has the LP in it, and I would assume that the lyric sheet is in the other side, like my 1970s copy. So it appears to be a replica of the standard original one.Pricewise: I waited until after release and yes, Amazon had dropped the price. It was less than £10 more than the standard black vinyl LP, so not bad value, but only for collectors. For comments on the clear vinyl: I cannot say because mine will stay 'Mint in Box'. But this is not really an item for playing. The sound quality may be good, but based on my experience with non-black vinyl in the past there is usually a drop in quality, and some have been unplayable. I would assume that Atlantic would make sure that the album sound quality is good though, to protect their reputation. If the band (ie Jimmy) had any influence on the sound quality of the physical product then it should be good.Hopefully someone else can fill in the gaps in my product knowledge by opening it up and trying it out.

classic
Brillant album a must in your collection, I have the original verson 52 years old so this sounds better.some pops but seem to go with a clean and a few plays. That seems normal for modern heavy vynyl

Poor pressing
A great classic album but wrecked by the pressing quality, not that great for a 75th Anniversary release

Great LP, poor pressing.
Sadly one of my favourite LPs is not in the Audiophile bracket. Plenty of other pressings around better than this one.
