Alright, let's talk about this lifesaver of an adapter I found for my Jeep's radio. When I first got the radio, I was bummed out because it had no way to hook up with my RAM mount set. But then, I stumbled upon this adhesive ball adapter – and wow, what a game-changer!Not only does it fit like a glove, but the base is flexible instead of rigid, which I didn't expect at all. It's like it was made for my setup! It's been working out even better than I imagined.

This is great. Much better than the suction cup mount I had as that kept falling off. This sticky mount one doesn't wabbel as much either, big thumbs up!

I was expecting this mount to be suitable for sticking to a car dashboard but it isn't. Two main problems - it is too rigid to conform to curved surfaces and the adhesive is too thin to adhere to the textured surface. I took every precaution - warmed up the surfaces and adhesive, cleaned the dashboard, clamped it in place for 24 hours but minutes after relesing the clamp it peeled itself off of the curve and after the third use it fell off completely. In the picture you can see an imprint of the dashboard texture which shows the adhesive only makes contact with the high points on the texture (it also shows where it peeled itself off on the curve and left only a narrow strip in contact with the dashboard.I have used other adhesive dashboard mounts successfully before and they have been much more flexible and used a thicker gel-type adhesive which seems to get in to all of the cracks of the texture and takes a much firmer hold (though admittedly the adhesive is more difficult to remove afterwards).I have since reused this mount on a shiny flat surface and it has stuck superbly well so that is what I would recommend it for - not textured and/or curved surfaces.

Sticks well but I think it's way too expensive.

Buy this instead of the RAM Suction mount. It’s ten times better. Easy double sided sticker fixing to stick it on to your chosen surface, then just leave it 24 hours and it’s rock solid.

This is actually my third of these bases purchased the last few years. The units work really well if you install them per the manufacturer's instructions. The one in my truck holds dual iPhones (I carry two at work) and survived years of bouncing over washboard, logging roads, and even a few badly rutted trails.Only issue, and this is not the fault of RAM, nor of 3M, the adhesive pad will loosen if it gets too hot. Sitting on the dash of a black truck w/ dark dash, outside temps over 40C (104F), windows closed, in direct sun, the pad will get loose. Suggested fix if you do encounter this. #8x9/16 Wafer head screws into the dash will hold it down well. Heating the adhesive pad is the suggested removal method, and baking in the sun like that on a hot day does exactly that. lol.

I've mounted one of these in each of my trucks to hold a large cell phone (Samsung A71). They have not fallen off and are stable. They are flexible enough to follow the contour of the dash if it's not a large bend/angle. (For example, it seems like it won't hold stay stuck if there is a 20 degree bend, but if it's just a curved dash it works great.)

Wir haben das System am Roller (25er) unserer Tochter montiert. Sie fährt damit ausschließlich asphaltierte Straßen und trotzdem haben wir innerhalb von einem Jahr nun den 3. Halter benötigt. Prinzipiell super Teil, aber die Wertigkeit ist echt grenzwertig…..
