I've had a few varieties of kava at a kava/juice bar in Chicago (Tropikava Cafe shout-out!), so I've tried Fijian, Samoan, Hawaiian and Vanuatuan, though I admit I don't know much about their source of kava. This was my first time buying a kava to make on my own and I also invested in the Kavafied AluBall Kava Maker.My experience with this kava was that I got some numbed mouth feelings but didn't really notice much else in the way of positive effects. I felt that I had some possible negative bodily effects - but it has been a few months since I had it. Overall, I tried it a few times and was not impressed. It wasn't about the flavor but the effects. I wondered if I'd gotten a tudei variety, not noble b/c the effects were not very relaxing or pleasant. Hoping the company's other products are better - I note this has since become unavailable.

This is not a noble kava; it's "Isa". That means it lacks the typical heady effects of noble kavas, and instead provides only long-lasting body relaxation. It comes on slowly... so slowly that you might not even notice it until you're nodding off.I've bought this kava many times, both on Amazon and on RoH's website. I mix it in with my noble kavas, and I think it's best enjoyed that way. It makes a great add-on to those kavas, to give them a heavier body vibe. This kava is best for nighttime and lazy weekend drinking, since it will most likely make you sleepy. I drink it exclusively at night, and it's perfect for that end-of-the-day unwind.If all of this sounds like what you're looking for, I highly recommend this kava. If you came here expecting a noble kava, you'll probably be disappointed. So, just know what you're getting with this one.
