Maybe for a pre-amplified signal?
I think this cable would work for an amplifier's XLR output. I don't know of a dynamic microphone that could work with this cable without a pre-amp/mixer.

Works, Lacking Gain Control
"connect and forget" is how I'd describe this, and others like it. Functional for the price, but not for any professional application. The driver's Auto Gain Control (AGC) MUST be on and the gain slider MAXED out to produce any meaningful output from microphone levels. AGC and Gain are the only setting available in the driver. Build and sound quality are fine, easy to connect, plug and play. I'll continue to use it for my mic chat in game.
