As sharp as a knife!
I was a bit dubious about this since I'd read some bad reviews of products like this. But I'm glad I took the plunge anyway and decided to give it a try. If you actually follow the instructions and take your time with the product you will have some very satisfying results. I originally was using one of those pull through knife sharpeners. At first they seem to work, but then over time they end up destroying the blade as they actually take material away from the blade. I got to the point that my knife was getting blunter and blunter and the pull through sharpener was not cutting it any more (see what I did there?)Soak these in water first, and gradually work from the coarsest grit block up until the finest one. Using the included angle guide actually helps - as you can keep the sharpening action consistent on both sides of the blade for perfect results. I still haven't quite got to grips with the optimum honing action to use with the included leather - but again it's worth taking the time to master it, as removing burrs from the blade between uses helps keep the knife cutting at it's best. The only thing missing from the kit is some plasters - as both my wife and I have since sliced our fingers open using the knife, forgetting how sharp it is - as we'd got so used to cutting with a dull blade. - On the plus side, I was able to do the 'tomato test' and now my test tomato is sliced into 100 slivers. Far too thin for a sandwich - but it was a great challenge none the less!!Now I need to go through my knife drawer and sharpen some of my others!!

Good product, misleading instructions
Used it once, followed the instructions precisely and went back a week or so later to find it mouldy. Instead of 3 hours of drying and leaving them open, a colleague recommended to dry for 8-10 hours, then wrap each individual stone in clingfilm. Works much better.

The NOT so Leather Strop
Well it arrived and initially i thought, brilliant.. took all the bits out the box to check everything and then i noticed the Strop.. IT'S NOT LEATHER, CHEAP VINYL CRAP WHICH IS NO USE TO ANYONE NEEDING TO USE IT, threw it away..Why advertise and state on the box LEATHER STROP and then let your product down... it then makes you wonder about the quality of the other components ?? We will see..

Practice makes perfect, I hope.
Guide doesn’t fit all my knifes, still haven’t managed to get blades as sharp as new.
