Thank you for contacting us. This portable CO gas monitor can freely set the concentration of the alarm value. The sound can be turned on or off The operation is as follows: In the test interface short press the button to turn off the sound (the default is to turn on the sound at boot), at this time the speaker pattern in the upper left corner of the screen disappears. Short press the button again to turn on the sound again.

Q: Can it be used for cars, exhaust leaks?

Any exhaust is going to have carbon monoxide, so yes, it could be used as a leak detector.

Q: Instructions show how to adjust Indication Level" digits there is no explanation as to what that means. Can the vendor explain?

I am not the vendor but I think that means the CO level that causes the alarm to sound. It is preset at either 20 or 25 ppm and is adjustable.
