Excellent cleaner
I had a Navigator that ran for 13 years with several rebuild kits installed. It wasn't the best cleaner, but it worked. I upgraded to the TrakVac and was instantly impressed with its cleaning capabilities and the fact it actually climbs and cleans the walls up to the scum line. It has been trouble free and would occasionally stop moving if leaves get into the gears. But cleaning and maintenance is a snap.

Cleans really well!
This is my third cleaner, I had fo awhile a Navigator, and honestly no the best cleaner, then a crawling cleaner (the one with a rubber round pad that uses vacuum to make the system to “ jump” by intermittent suction of the membrane) which was ok, but followed a path that could not be altered, and now I have this unit which is really amazing, I got it since my crawly is depreciated, and what a nice surprise, my pool has its own vacuum line, so I just plugged it in, and I saw the results in no time, we have pollen in our area so precipitation in the bottom of the pool is unfortunately normal, and now I do not see it, I had this cleaner already for almost a month, and it is performing a very good job, it is well designed, easy to install, and also easy to maintain. Do not hesitate if you are deciding what to buy, this product is worth every penny.

Great price and great cleaning results.
I’m adding this part after 9 months of use. When it worked it worked great but after only 9 months of use some of the internal plastic parts broke and it’s impossible to get replacement parts to fix this so BOTTOM LINE I’m OUT $500.00 IN LESS THAN 1 YEAR. I WONT BY ANOTHER POOL CLEANER ON AMAZON AGAIN ONLY FROM A LOCAL POOL STORE WITH A MINIMUM OF 3-5 YEAR WARRANTY. BUYERS BEWARE!!!! At first I was not happy with this sweeper but after about 4 days of properly adjusting my pool pump settings everything works even better than hoped for and my pool is crystal clear each and everyday. Placing the floats in the correct spot on the first hose is crucial to keeping it upright always on its own. It’s important to have your pump on the highest settings but it is just as important to have the flow of your water through your whole pool on the correct settings for the sweeper to properly climb and clean the walls. If your sweeper does not climb the walls it is because your settings on your pool water is not correct especially if you have a spa connected to your pool. The set up is extremely easy and in no time at all you will have this going as soon as you get it out of the box. This a great and economical product in my humble opinion.

Working perfectly with a just a little observation
Cleaner feels sturdy and does not take up much storage space when not in use. Other reviews criticized that the cleaner would not upright itself as needed. I too had this issue, but I attributed this to the fact that the suction tube is a very good, thick, high quality tube, and that the weight of the tube dragging behind the cleaner appeared to me, to be the cause. The cleaner comes with only one clip on float block which is placed 12"-18" inches above the cleaner. I added a 3" length piece of pool noodle by splitting it and taping it around the suction hose at about it's mid-point. Ever since, the cleaner works flawlessly!

Climbs walls, doesn’t get stuck , improvement over previous cleaner
It’s only been a week and I’m watching it carefully but so far it does everything I was expecting. this cleaner is a replacement for the last cleaner. I had “the pool cleaner”. the trac vac does a much better job of climbing the walls. It will breach the surface and suck air so you’ll have to make an adjustment in the suction to prevent that from happening, which is easy. it moves around the entire pool at a steady pace, never gets stuck. It does not climb my stairs, which I’m OK with. I believe it depends on the configuration of your stairs and the curvature of your plaster surfaces for it to climb stairs or walls or shelves. The gauge supplied with the cleaner shows the pump suction level. Mine is at the minimal level. So it’s working fine at that level . So far I’m completely satisfied, I am going to keep observing for another few weeks.

Works for a 60'x25' inground pool
I was amazed how this simple design magically gets the floor clean. It lacks brushes so you need to manually brush beforehand. It just goes forward some distance, then turns 350 degrees or so and goes straight again. This seems to be enough. It does climb walls. As my pool is large, i haven't used the included hoses. I have a 50' hose attached to the vac port above ground, then a leaf canister (a must have!), then a 25' hose, then this vac. I wrapped electric tape around the attachment fitting, else standard 1.5" hose would fall off.It is important to put the included float on the hose 2' from the vac.The hose closest to the vac does get coiled somewhat, as the vac always turns in one direction. But due to the swivel, it doesn't overcoil or prevent normal operation. The vac somtimes falls on its side or stands up, but eventually rights itself. This is due to the large pool and my hose configuration.I do move the entry point of my large hose into the water to shift the coverage more to one side.I would say it takes 12 hours at least to go over my pool completely, likely a couple of 12 hour cycles.

Keep getting stuck on my steps and it doesn’t move until I move it my self
It’s keep getting stuck on my steps I checked the unit and cleaned it but when it’s come to my step it doesn’t move until I move it not happy about it would I recommend this item probably not and the price that I pay for it not really a great price I found out other place. Same item cheaper. I contacted manufacture. They keep referring me back to Amazon since I didn’t buy it direct from them.
