This is a great reference book to use if you are taking a trip on Amtrak’s California Zephyr. It’s small enough to carry with you during the trip and is a resource for the entire trip! Prepare yourself before you travel to have an even better experience

If you are going a long distance train trip get the book. The author does all the major journeys.It is a perfect travel companion giving exactly the info needed in an easy to follow form.

The California Zephyr is an exciting and fantastic trip! The book was a good read prior to this bucket list trip - it pointed out many sites I may have missed.

It's good, information about each point along the trip, but no maps at all. Just descriptions of each point. Put an end to end map, page 1, before anything else.

This is a good book for getting to know the route of the Zephyr and facts about the towns and cities it calls on. That's great if you have an intrerest about all the stops along the line but I was disappointed there wasn't more about things to look for. Years ago I had a great book that would point out various things of interest to see as the trip progressed, noting where and when they would be. A book like that would be more useful to me.

Gives highlights of each stop and helps you stay oriented from one stop to the next. Really enjoyed this book on our bucket-list round the country train trip. Used Empire Builder, Coast Starlight, and California Zephyr from this series.

Zero useful information. Total waste of money. No pictures or maps either.
