Definitely worth the purchase. Before I’d get 5-6 hours of playtime from the stock battery, now I get about 2 days before I need to charge again. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.

This thing is INCREDIBLE. Just $16 and my controller pretty much never dies.My original controller battery had gotten to where it barely held a charge for an hour. I just played with it plugged in most of the time. I considered buying a new one, but they're so expensive and I figured the same thing would happen, so I looked into replacement batteries and found this one.I was kind of worried about installing it. I'm not super techy and I worried I'd break some tiny thing and the controller would never be the same. But I figured it was worth trying, for the price.Taking the controller apart was a bit scary at a few points. Especially around the shoulder buttons, there were a few times when I had to pry pretty forcefully and was really worried the plastic shell would break. (Also if I remember right, some controller models have slightly different construction around the shoulder buttons so the first tutorial I used didn't quite match mine about where the little release tabs were and stuff.) I definitely recommend reading other reviews and also checking a few tutorials and videos before starting.But it really wasn't too hard overall. The included pry tool and screwdriver worked perfectly (the screwdriver even had a nice magnetic tip and rotating end). I think I had to use tweezers at one point for connecting the tiny battery wires. The replacement battery is actually smaller than the factory one, but mine came with an adhesive pad to hold it in place I see where other people in reviews mentioned using tape, so it seems like at some point the company listened to customer feedback and started including the adhesive, which is awesome.Anyway, the installation was a little scary but not actually hard. Afterward, my controller didn't power on right away, which worried me, but it came on fine after being plugged in for a few minutes and worked fine.And now....holy cow! This thing lasts FOREVER. I can play literally all day and it's still going strong. I've never actually measured the total time, but I'm guessing at least 12 hours, maybe more. I don't know how long it takes to fully charge as I just plug it in at night, but some nights I forget and I can still play for hours the next day.I installed this in December and it's now late April so it's a little under 6 months but so far I cannot recommend this enough. I haven't noticed any reduction in the battery life so far and it's just SO nice to pretty much never see low battery warnings anymore or have to even think about battery life.To be so affordable and actually smaller than the original, sure seems like Sony could have done better than the crappy one they used!

I’ve has my PS5 for 4 years and the battery life on both controllers had gotten to be quite poor, about an hour before they would shut down. I bought one of these kits for each controller. The tools it comes with are nice quality and made it a breeze to open up the controller to swap the battery. It doesn’t come with instructions, but there are plenty of videos on YouTube showing the process. The battery is smaller than the original (larger capacity, but small) But it does come with two sided tape to secure it inside the controller.After swapping the batteries one of the controllers would not charge on my aftermarket PS5 charging dock. At first, I thought the battery might be faulty, but then I plugged it into a cable connected to the PS5 and it charged up just fine. Since then, I’ve been recharging it on the dock and it’s working great. It may have just been discharged too low for the dock to activate.Now I can use the controllers for hours and they’re still over half-charged when I put them back on the dock. Time will tell how long these last but so far so good!

This battery holds a charge better than the original PS5 controller. Highly recommend

Fixed controller that was not holding charge. Does not appear to last any more than the standard OE battery. Capacity Rating may be incorrect.

I have 2 PS5 controllers that I purchased in 2020. I tested by playing Poker Stars., which is not alot of use of the controller. On a full charge, controller A would last only 25 minutes, Controller B, a little over an hour. So I replaced the battery in A as a test. I played Poker for over 4 hours, then played NHL for an hour. The battery still shows a full charge, and my charging cradle doesn't even try to charge it! So, I ordered a second battery and will replace B, then I'll update in a while.The replacement was easy for me after watching a video on YouTube, but this is basically what I did for a living for 40 years, (fix electronic equipment). Just be careful, take your time and be careful of the tiny square tabs near the bottom of the TouchPad, they can break easily. I bent but ALMOST broke one! Use the tape to secure the battery, it's smaller, and will rattle around if you don't. Good luck!*update 7/28 - after 2nd controller done, a couple of suggestions. 1- notice the angle that the screws back out at, will be easier to reinsert. 2- position blk wire on plug toward top of controller 3- follow a how-to video on YouTubeAMAZING results so far. Over 6 hours before I decided to charge.
