For a basic bar to mount stuff to above your instrument cluster, it does the job. Period.

Construction looks and feels sturdy. Don't think there will be any problems with the welds. Mounted up easy. Only thing I would suggest is going a size bigger with the washers. Supplied washers sunk in to the mount so I added stainless washers one size bigger for more support just to be sure it will not move. Other than that easy mount up in about 10 minutes total. My phone mount is right where I want it now.

Hesitant about purchasing this with the negative reviews regarding the welds coming loose with the bike vibrations, but for 25 bucks I figured I'd give the version 2 a try.When I got it I gave it a few hard strikes and tried to pull it apart a few times, it seems solid. I don't think there's going to be any problem with the paint either. I'm satisfied and you won't find a cheaper mount for the V Strom anywhere else.5 stars for the price and no issues thus far. I'll report back if the welds fail, but I can't see that happening.

You do need to have the windshield it the fully up position to have access to the mounting holes.

Fit is spot on. Looks like a decent product. Swopped out the bolts that came with the product for matching anodised bolts and some stainless dome head nuts from my toolbox. Nothing wrong with these that came with the product but wanted matching to the rest of my bike's front end. Will add a phone mount and see how it holds up. So far so good. Had some help from a 4 leg apprentice. 2011 DL650 L1 Non ABS
