Cimac Makiwara - Black - Punching & Striking Board with Wood Base, Covered with Leather-Like Material, Easy to Attach, Suitable for Karate, Taekwondo, MMA, and Muay Thai Training

It's a sturdy ,well made makiwara which doesn't take up much room. The hook on the back was flimsy and probably wouldn't hold it to the wall. I drilled 2 holes through the top and used long screws ( like other reviewers did ). You could tie it to a post or tree if you wanted but I want it under cover so its in the garage. Its perfect for me and my training.

Not too bad at all. Used cable ties, threading through one of the slots, to secure it to an old floor standing punch bag.

This is a great product. And despite my dotes ,after some researching I found out that this really does work. And after a couple of months I have really noticed the difference.And for those of you who are wondering what this product is for. It is wooden makiwara board that has been used in martial arts for hundreds of years. Although back then they would often use such natural things like bamboo or planks of wood. And would strike there hands, arms and legs off of them. This builds up the bones and makes them stronger over time and is healthier for them. This was proven by scientists a couple of years ago I think.

The item arrived having the entire top level of the board split in half, most probably caused by wood splintering when the top fixing pin was inserted, as the break runs right through it. It then runs vertically up all the way to the top where the label is printed. Never even got to punch it once. Returning item and will try my luck some place else. Just bad luck I guess. Will try a more expensive one.UPDATE: contacted seller Sunday evening, got a reply Monday before 10am, a new replacement product was sent before midday. Must say GREAT customer service. Will see how the quality of the new one is. Hopefully will be good.

I am no DIY expert but when a product needs three dowel hooks to be of any use, then I would expect the product to come with three hooks to hang the box off. Unfortunately there are no hooks supplied with the Cimac Wooden Makiwara. There are three metal triangles on the back which are supposedly called dowel hooks.I can understand why there is no drill, drill bits, ruler, and pencil. How did the other reviewers put theirs up?Finally managed a solution using 3 drilled holes, inserting a plug, and then using long screws with small heads that would fit through the Makiwara boxes holes, also known as the dowel hooks. So it is up and working. But be prepared for some niggles and trial and error to get it up.

Very good, builds strength and hardens the hands worth getting

Excellent for strengthening of the knuckles/hands/wrists. It is to be used with caution until you get used to the impact that it produces from hitting it. I would recommend a couple of times a week to start of with. The way this board works is it causes micro tears in your bone structure after prolonged sessions on the board. Your body will then repair these micro tears/fractures and your bones will get stronger. In the future your punches will be a lot harder and injury will not be as prominent if any.

Really liked this , got it for my sons, easy to put up and nice quality
