Samson Pine Bed Frame, 3 ft Single

Take 10 minutes to read both instruction pamphlets thoroughly & building the bed will be really easy.Several different headboard / footboard designs are illustrated in the pamphlet , just make sure you identify the instructions for your model & you`re sorted. The colour coding on headboards/footboards is simple & clever .The most tedious bit is screwing in all the slats but they are all pre drilled holes & the instructions recommend a power screw driver . I managed to screw all the slats in with a regular screwdriver as the pine accepts screws quite well.It took me about an hour to build a single bed . Very sturdy & attractive with plenty of storage space underneath , about 34cm on the Samson , ideal for small rooms.The pre delivery info we received from the company & from XDP couriers was superb. It took a few hours from receiving delivery info from Strictly Bunks & Beds , for the tracking info to appear on XDP website , but it was more than a day before the delivery date , so in plenty of time . XDP Couriers gave us a 2 hour time slot , ( they were really busy , so please allow a little extra time ) .The Drivers were helpful & courteous & they phoned us on arrival , photographing the item in front of our door to prove delivery , to keep to social distancing rules.All in all , a great experience, & a quality product from a customer focused British company. I have no connection the the company , other than being a Happy customer.

I wanted a little more strength in the bed as my dogs like to lay on it too, as well as the fact that I am sick of cheap beds that have metal slats that are too far apart and end up damaging the mattress itself. It's not the case here, the bed is sturdy , the slats are wide with little gaps between them. The parts box had many spares, as they must use the same kit for multiple beds, so don't panic if you have many parts left over. Instructions were clear but comprehensive, but as I have worked in a furniture store in the past I would like to add a few tips.... 1) Using an electric screwdriver makes the job easier but when you screw the slats in place make sure you use an extension bit or the chuck of the drill will damage the sides. 2) Glue is included for the long bolts, I would recommend putting the glue into the nut rather than on the bolt, as it is then passed through a long hole and most of the glue would come off 3) Make sure all screws are sunk below the surface level of the wood as they may end up damaging your mattress if the heads stand proud. 4) The centre support legs do not have pilot holes, again due to same parts being used on multiple bed designs and I would recommend that you drill them for ease of assembly and to make sure that the legs are pulled in tight to the sides. 5) After a few days recheck the bolts in case they need to be re tightened. All in all a good quality, strong bed at a very good price, delivery was rapid and communication was great regarding it's arrival. Both myself and the Dogs are very happy with this bed, highly recommended.

Bed arrived about 4 days early, delivery was great. The wood is untreated (as expected), but arrived with a few small issues which were resolved the same day. the bed is strong, and lovely looking so great value. The amount of storage underneath is great, with the added bonus of making this a comfortable height when getting out of bed. I would use the side support legs personally, though the frame is sturdy. My teenage son sleeps really well in it.Parts list helped massively,thank you. I would buy/ borrow of those allan key hand screw driver attachments if possible as it screws together nice and tight. Self tapping screws went in easily with hand screwdriver with no issues.

I have had no previous experience in DIY, yet this bed had clear instructions.The build process was enjoyable and relatively stress free.All the parts came in my order and nothing was out of place.The pine smells nice and is beautiful. Did not require sanding/varnishing on my end.The only 2 bad things I experienced:The glue never worked for me when I connected the metal bolts to the side rails BUT it was not necessary becausethe bolt is still secure enough.The optional side rail middle support legs are designed to hover slightly abovethe ground. They don't touch the floor unless a lot of weight is put on to these ends.I don't like the way they hover above ground, it seems out of place.I am not experienced with DIY, it took me 4 and a half hours to set up.Would be faster for someone who is used to assembling furniture.I only needed a Philips head screw driver. An electric screwdriver is recommendedby other reviewers, I did not have one but a normal screwdriver works fine, but forceis required to screw the slates onto the bed so it will give your wrists a wee workout!All holes are pre-drilled. I got worried for a second when I noticed the side rail forthe slates were not drilled in but then I understood that the screws are designed to drilla hole when you twist it.Overall, a brilliant single bed frame with sturdy wood at a reasonable price.I bought this frame because it had so many positive reviews so I will add to that too.
