Ok but just barely
In the past few months I've now used this product, the same thing but 4" tall version of this product (another brand) and a set of hard plastic grids...all of which to do the same job for me, which is to hold gravel where I put it. Each product does that job but this 2" stretch out grid was far behind the other two. As others have mentioned, it is hard to keep down and in place, even with lots of stakes. I used 12" lawn staples but it felt like I needed them every few feet because of the give of the material. By contrast, the 4" version was much more sturdy and much less likely to rise up as I worked the gravel into each pocket.A word of warning no matter what kind of grid you go with, once it starts to rise up, it's almost impossible to get back to the original level...the nature of gravel and gravity. But this 2" tall grid shifts and lifts like a leaf in the wind.If you use this I recommend completely covering it with your gravel by at least an inch to minimize the chances of anything or anybody accidentally pulling it up. This is only good for light traffic, like walking or maybe a small riding mower. Do NOT use for vehicle traffic. Use the 4" material for that.

Working our perfectly
After the first two rains, we saw instances where you could see the grid. We added a little more gravel and tamped it down. Now, it's gone months without issues. The gravel walkway is on a medium slope and we couldn't be happier with the way it's worked out.

GREAT COMPANY TO WORK WITH GREAT PRODUCT FOR MUDDY HORSE PADDOCKS
This product works well for horse paddocks if you have a mud problem. It is much easier and quicker to install than the individual grids, and it seems like it will hold up just fine over the long term. Being fearful of using washed 3/4" gravel because of the horses foot structure, we choose to use processed 3/4" gravel which also contains sand. After time, most of the gravel sinks into the sand, and it becomes a fairly solid surface. I don't think we will have a drainage problem because of the sand gravel mix, but time will tell. When I placed the order, I accidentally ordered the 2" tall geo grid instead of the 4" and the company was kind and generous enough to exchange it for me.

Well smack my a** and call me Judy
Hesitant to purchase due to the reviews, however for our purpose, this stuff is awesome!!!!! I wasn’t even pleasantly surprised, I was wowed. (And I’m not easily wowed). So we built our house on a hill, and then had the wettest summer and now are heading into fall/winter (the seasons get blurred here in Montana). Cue some serious erosion; I tried planting plants but just couldn’t stay ahead of it. I did my research, was questionable on how well this would work, but finally got the time and weather to put it out. Took about 30 minutes to actually lay it out and stake it down (used 12 rebar stakes and about the equal number of 12 inch staples, the first of which did the majority of the work). Didn’t come with any instructions and honestly can’t imagine any would be needed, pretty easy to figure out. Then started filling it with rock, literally dumping it down the hill and scraping it over to cells to fill them. We were stepping all over the material, and it held up with us doing both. Extremely impressed with the results, really quite little effort. I could see how this could be a little annoying on a flat surface, but for our steep hill it was AH-MAZING. I’m honestly planning now to change my previous plans for stairs to the right and will be making another purchase of these to fill with rock. I could easily walk up and down even this steep area once I put rock in/on it and the rock was not sliding down. Erosion control? Do it!

Works well!!
Purchased to keep in place decorative river rock and gravel in landscape. Works surprisingly well. The cells keep rocks in place and gravel barely scatters when driven over. Took away a star since the installation is truly back breaking and requires helper to stretch the grid. All in all, the product is great for my application and serves it purpose well. Time will tell how it holds up to the climate (Summer heat and rain). Stakes are required to secure to the ground / surface. Make sure there are no obstruction beneath the surface. This is easier said than done but needs to be noted.
