Good looking replacement
It’s good looking and easy to install on my vintage Raleigh. Even though the 2 lock bolts were tightened real hard, the handle bar kept slipping on rough rides. I had to insert two small pieces of rubber tubing in between the lock plates to finally secure it.

Good quality, but long
This stem allowed me to shorten the distance to the handlebars on an old Giant mountain bike. I wish I had done this sooner! You do need to remove one grip and shifter in order to slide the handlebar in from the side. You cannot access the clamp from the front as with a modern stem. It tightens rock solid. The only downside is that the stem is quite long. I ended up removing the bottom piece and cutting the stem tube about 1.5 inches shorter at the same angle, which worked well. This is a two piece design, with the top clamp being aluminum or similar and the tubing being steel.

Perfect fit
I bought new riser bars for my bike and the sharp bends wouldn’t go through my old one piece gooseneck. The clamps on this gooseneck were the perfect solution to my problem.

My bike is comfortable!
I used these to bring the handlebars UP and BACK a bit. My old stem was about an inch further forward than this one, and considerably shorter. I now have a much more upright riding position for my old bones.Steel tube with aluminum alloy head pressed in. Good quality. They include a black plastic cap to cover the allen head at the top, but I don't think it will stay in for long. Fits pretty loose. I put a dab of rubber cement on it to keep it from falling out. Easy to remove later for adjustment and stuff.

Easier to ride with my handlebars higher
Yes, it that's time in life when our bodies don't like to do everything we ask. Moving into a warmer climate I began cycling more regularly. I noticed it was much less comfortable to lean over the handlebars. This brought them up just high enough for comfortable posture, which means I am more likely to get out and ride often!
