Great kit - has everything you need! Fun and educational
This is one of the best science kits for kids that we have used. All the kit you need for the experiments is included, lenses, mirrors, prisms etc. The experiments are fun, fairly straightforward and sometimes surprising. The process is entertaining and engaging and some key concepts in optics are covered.Occasionally the instructions on how to set up the experiment were a little lacking, but we always got there in the end - a few diagrams might have helped. There is additional information with every experiment that allows you to to look in more depth at the concepts covered. Younger kids can just gloss over this bit and get a basic understanding and enjoy the pretty lights, where as older kids are able to get more into the nuts and bolts of how light works.I have been very disappointed in the past by shoddy science kits that lack any real science, this is completely different. We had a lot of fun, we loved the pinhole camera and making rainbows with the prism, I feel my daughter really learnt something new about the wold whilst playing with this kit.

Good kit for home tutoring/teaching
I use this kit for home tutoring, so although it is a bit basic, it does have enough to get the basic concepts over. For the price, excellent value

makes an excellent present and would even be good for science demonstrations in the classroom
Teenii Optics Science Kit about Light Experiment for Kids,We tested this with children between 7 and 15 - and with someone from the local school of optometry too (Optometrists are the people who check your eyes and fix your glasses). We found✅ the set is well packed and presented in a cardboard box that can be recessed to pack this away after use✅ you get 2x AAA batteries in the box - but there are 3 light sources so we advise you get another 4 AAA batteries as changing the batteries over is fiddly for small fingers✅ the instructions are excellent - the book that comes with the kit is full of information and covers a lot of the basic "Optics" course for science at school at KS2 and 3 and even for student Optometrists !✅ It kept everyone busy for nearly 2 hours over the new year holiday. We rate this as better than the basic "chemistry sets".👎🏻 no problems - just suggest you get another 4 AAA batteries to go with it.♥️ CONCLUSION: a great educational "toy"; we think it makes an excellent present and would even be good for science demonstrations in the classroom.

Broken
The kit is really good however it arrived with a broken triangular prism. When I contacted customer services they said a return and refund would take between two and four weeks. Useless if I'm using it to teach now.

Son really liked this
My son really liked this and it was a good bonding session for him and his dad. My son is 9 and loves to experiment and look into things and how they work. Him and his dad spent ages with this experimenting. This is not what I call a throw away toy it is something that can be done over and over again. I know it seems a lot of money but there is hours of enjoyment to be had with this. It was nice watching my son and his dad doing this together. They were able to work out a lot with doing this explaining to eachother their thoughts and how these things work. Would be nice if was a little cheaper but is worth getting.

Optics kit
Pretty good with wide range of lenses and good light source. Tricky to get prism to work with sunlight..but that is often true.

Fantastic learning
Really impressed with this kit, I've bought other educational kits for my home ed children and have been very dissapointed by the amount of equipment I had to supply that was required to complet experiments until now . Amazed at the value for money this kit provides with all the equipment you require is supplied, it's full of equipment. What i like about this kit is the ability to go back and revisit the experiments as the kit supplied isn't a 1 use only. The instruction manual is a bit tricky at times and this is not the sort of manual you could leave your children with to figure it out themselves so adult engagement is required.Excellent value for money and can be re sued over and over again, ideal for home school families.

Decent kit if overpriced but terrible booklet
This is a decent little kit that allows doing similar practical investigations on light to those that are part of the GCSE syllabus.Unfortunately the accompanying information is not so good. The instruction booklet is unclear and outdated, and uses language not suitable for the age of children suited to the kit itself (the first chapter title is "Rectilinear Propagation of Light", with no attempt to explain these terms to youngsters. A little card that has a diagram of the eye with translations of the parts in four languages has mistranslated the word "pupil", using a term for a school pupil instead of an anatomical term. The little battery powered ray box is quite convenient.
