Very easy to set up really great. Camera allows you to send notifications directly to your phone for movement. Very affordable I highly recommend it. I was really impressed by it.

Just have to share that a new update of the app to view your monitor now shows an ad every single time I open it. Can I tell you a time when I’m 1000% not interested in being sold something? When I’m checking on my child! The camera itself is fine; a bit difficult to troubleshoot and manual is a bit vague but this ad thing is ABSURD.

Very nice camera for the price.

First, this review is for one specific application and not as a general security camera review. For the past 2 years, I have been using a Nest/Google DropCam Pro to monitor my water meter and alert me if water is running when I am away. The red triangle on the water meter rotates if water is flowing and the camera detects the motion. I receive an alert on my phone. I can then remotely turn the water off with a WiFi valve control via the Smart Life app. Everything has been working fine. But early in 2024 Google is terminating DropCam support and the cameras will no longer work. To continue, I needed to find a replacement that would work in my application.The problem that I have run into is that many "smart" cameras of this type apparently will not recognize the rotation of the triangle as motion. I have tried the Nest Wired Indoor camera (Google's recommended replacement), the Blink Mini and a Ring camera and they all had the same issue. They will recognize people and other things, but not the movement of the small red triangle on my meter. Apparently their design has eliminated extraneous motion that would cause false alerts. Maybe a simpler design was needed.After looking over the various inexpensive cameras on Amazon, I discovered the Tovendor WiFi camera. The camera is designed to work with the universal Smart Life app which I was already using for several smart products. Its form factor is similar to the DropCam Pro. Like the DropCam, the Tovendor's camera head snaps into a versatile mount which I removed for my application. The head is slightly smaller than the DropCam, but generally the same layout with connectors in the same place. There's the added benefit of a micro SD memory slot. Setup was easy. The User Manual is more complete than most in this category. If you are currently using mounting accessories for your Dropcam, these will probably not fit the Tovendor because the size is different.In my installation, the camera is placed in a short tube directly over the meter with an extra light on the side. To my delight, it recognized meter motion the same way as the DropCam Pro. The close-up image is fuzzy because the lens is not as macro as the DropCam, but the end result is that I now get alerts when water flows. I can still read the numbers and the fuzzy image does not bother me as long as I get the alerts. The attached photos show the two camera heads, the mount over the water meter, and the resulting images of the two cameras. It's not a perfect solution, but the only one that I could find to monitor my meter.For general use, the camera produces razor sharp images. The Smart Life app provides all of the control and monitoring features you would expect from a high end WiFi security camera. And you can record locally on the optional MicroSD card in the camera without a subscription. When combined with the free Smart Life app, this camera is an excellent alternative to the expensive security products on the market today.

II tried to set this up but it just won’t connect, the return window was not long enough so now I’ve got a camera that doesn’t work that I paid for. It won’t connect to 5G and that’s all I have in my subdivision. Old technology. A total waste!
